"I ain't your son, Officer Jeon Jongwon," spat Jungkook, his voice thick with rage. His chest heaved as he struggled to control his breathing, his nostrils flaring like a bull ready to charge.

Jongwon, unfazed by his son's outburst, rolled his eyes and took a step back, a smirk playing at the corners of his lips. "Well, well, seems like the apple doesn't fall far from the tree," he chuckled, finding amusement in Jungkook's theatrics. "You sure inherited your mother's fire, kid."

Jungkook squeezed his eyes shut, struggling to contain his fury towards the man who seemed to take pleasure in his agitation. "I've said it before and I'll say it again, you and that woman are not my parents, got it? And get the hell out of my place right now!"

Ignoring Jungkook's warnings, Jongwon casually wandered through the apartment, as if oblivious to the daggers shooting from his son's eyes. He pulled a gun from his pocket and nonchalantly placed it on the coffee table, scanning the room with a casual air. "Nice digs you've got here, you know. Nina would've adored this place."

Jungkook felt a wave of defeat wash over him, his frustration bubbling as he sighed heavily. It dawned on him that his attempts to communicate were futile, the man before him seemingly immune to his words, even though he had the audacity to call himself a father.

Jongwon knelt down beside Bam, who was busy investigating an old napkin with a sniff here and there. With gentle strokes, Jongwon reached out and began to pet Bam's head. Despite being a stranger, Bam remained surprisingly serene, allowing Jongwon's touch without any sign of unease. Jungkook, observing this interaction, couldn't help but furrow his brows, puzzled by Bam's unusual response.

"They say dogs can sniff out bad people," Jongwon remarked softly as he continued to stroke Bam's back. The puppy leaned into the touch, showing no hesitation, even giving Jongwon's hand a few affectionate licks.

"What the fuck!" Jungkook muttered under his breath, disbelief evident in his tone. He couldn't wrap his head around how Bam, usually wary of strangers, seemed so comfortable with Jongwon's presence. It was perplexing, especially considering how Bam didn't usually warm up to anyone besides Taehyung. Despite Jimin's frequent care, Bam didn't show the same level of affection towards him as he did towards Taehyung. In fact, Bam seemed to reserve his trust for Taehyung alone. But now, here was Jongwon, earning Bam's trust effortlessly as the pup remained completely at ease in his company.

"Hey, you know that Jimin dude next door? He's pretty great with Bamie, ain't he? But even he's got stuff to do sometimes. Ever think about who steps in for you when you're not around?" Jongwon said casually, scratching Bamie behind the ears as the pup's tail wagged nonstop.

Jungkook felt a twinge of uncertainty at Jongwon's words. He wasn't sure how to respond.

"And what about that asshole, Borja?" Jongwon continued, his voice taking on a hardened edge. "The one you were so damn infatuated with? When he was busy tormenting you, did you ever stop to think about how the hell Hoseok managed to rescue you?" His fists clenched involuntarily, a testament to the anger simmering just beneath the surface. "Hoseok's not out there playing superhero for just anyone, Jungkookie. He's a goddamn Senior Superintendent in the police force. He doesn't just stumble upon situations like yours and swoop in to save the day."

Despite his calm tone, there was a fire burning behind Jongwon's eyes, a fire fueled by a protective rage that threatened to consume him. "If it had been me," he continued, his voice lowering to a dangerous growl, "I would've torn that Spanish bastard apart. Who did he think he was, laying a finger on you without your consent? I couldn't..." His voice trailed off, choked by the weight of his own emotions.
