"Excuse me, Sir, may I enter?" A man, adorned in the crisp attire of a police officer, stood with a composed stance at the door of the cabin, seeking approval for his entrance.
"Certainly, Jacob," came the calm response from the occupant seated within the cabin.
"Thank you kindly, General," Jacob expressed his gratitude with a nod, acknowledging the respect accorded to his rank.
In acknowledgment, the General reciprocated with a subtle nod and motioned graciously for Jacob to proceed and take a seat, inviting him into the room.
As Jacob settled into the offered chair, he smoothly slid the file he had been carrying across the table, placing it within the General's reach, ready for their discussion to commence.
Seated across the table, the officer leaned forward, a somber expression clouding his features as he relayed the unsettling details, "So, this guy, they call him the NightHawk in the underworld. He's got quite the rap sheet, Sir. Allegedly involved in nearly a hundred murders of innocent folks." The gravity of the situation weighed heavily as the General's eyes widened in response. "But, you know, nothing's been solidly proven yet. And there's more. He's also suspected of having a hand in the Chief Justice of Gwangju's demise."
The General's curiosity sparked instantly, prompting him to inquire, "Wait, are you talking about Superintendent Jung's father's case?"
The officer nodded in confirmation.
"He's been a real ghost to pin down. Almost impossible to get a clear picture of him. Tight security all around. That's why, Sir, we've been struggling to gather any concrete intel on this NightHawk character," the officer explained, frustration evident in his tone.
The General couldn't help but scoff at the mention of the name, muttering incredulously, "What kind of ridiculous name is that?"
The officer remained stoic, unfazed by the General's comment, and pressed on with the briefing, "So, you remember that accident involving Jung Gicheol, the billionaire?"
The General nodded in acknowledgment.
"Well, there were whispers for a while suggesting that it might have been the work of Nighthawk's crew. But those rumors got hushed up pretty quickly, suspiciously so," the officer revealed, his tone tinged with a hint of skepticism. "And just recently, over at Pohang international port, there was a major bust. They seized a ship, and upon inspection, they found around 30 young girls, aged between 15 and 20. They were in a terrible state, highly drugged and starved, from places like Thailand, India, and Myanmar. Turns out, a man was arrested in connection to it, claiming he worked for Nighthawk. Though, he didn't seem to know much beyond that."
The general was deep in thought.
"The list of his crimes is endless but we have no solid information or proof about him. We've deployed 3 agents and 2 out of them are believed to have already been sacrificed"
Soon a knock on the door was heard and the person was invited in.
The general's eyes lit up seeing the familiar face, "Senior Superintendent Jung Hoseok, what a pleasant surprise!", he stood to greet him with a hand stretch which was immediately accepted with equal warmth.
"Commissioner General Kim Seokjin, the pleasure is all mine", he replied with a big grin.
The officer that was standing bowed in respect which Hoseok reciprocated immediately.
"Am I interrupting something? I can leave, Sir", he said to Seokjin.
"Oh no no. Just take a seat. I anyways need you on this case", and he slid the file in Hoseok's direction as they all took a seat. When he analysed the first page, he immediately knew what it was all about. His jaws clenched recalling the lose of his father.
