Hyuna took a step back, her expression a mix of disbelief and disdain, her lips curling slightly as she scoffed. Jungkook, his breath still raspy from Hyuna's tight hold, coughed and straightened up, his brow furrowing in concern. "What the heck was Yewon thinking?" he muttered, rubbing his neck where Hyuna's grip had been.
"She had a plan," Hyuna revealed, her voice tinged with frustration. "She wanted to play the part of the drunken seductress with Taehyung."
Jungkook's eyes widened in realization. "I could tell something was up with her," he admitted, shaking his head. "Especially when we dropped her off at her suite."
Hyuna's eyebrows shot up in surprise. "She actually tried it?" she exclaimed.
Jungkook nodded grimly. "Yep. She was persistent, even in her drunken stupor."
Hyuna shook her head in disbelief, a rueful smile playing on her lips. "That girl is relentless," she muttered. "Her plan was to cozy up to Taehyung, make it seem like he took advantage of her in her intoxicated state, and then use it as leverage against him in front of the board members. She thought it would clear the path for her to become the heir to the Jung Empire without any competition."
Jungkook's expression darkened. "Well, that plan went up in flames," he remarked bitterly. "Especially now that Mr. Jung has been murdered."
Hyuna's voice quivered with concern as she gently began, "Jungkook, I understand your feelings, but you must grasp the gravity of the situation. Entangling yourself romantically with the NightHawk's son could lead to dire consequences. It's not just risking your own life, but potentially his as well. The NightHawk is notorious for his extreme views on same-sex relationships. He's even gone as far as to commit unthinkable acts, like taking the life of his own flesh and blood."
Jungkook's expression shifted, a mix of turmoil and determination etching across his features. "But Tae... he's innocent in all of this chaos."
Hyuna's eyes softened with empathy as she met Jungkook's gaze. "I know, Jungkook. Tae is caught in the crossfire, targeted from all sides."
Taking a deep breath, Jungkook gathered his resolve, his voice tinged with raw emotion. "I can't stand idly by, Nabi. I have to shield him, to safeguard him with everything I have," he confessed, a single tear tracing a path down his cheek. "I love him, Nabi. I love him more than words can express."
Hyuna remained silent in response, her mind swirling with the weight of the situation. She understood the perilous nature of the circumstances at hand, yet she couldn't ignore the undeniable force of love.
"It's like this magnetic pull," Jungkook confessed, his words laden with the complexity of his emotions. "From the instant I laid eyes on Tae, I was captivated. Even General Kim Seokjin, disguised as the café owner, sensed something amiss and cautioned me about him right from the beginning. But in that moment, I underestimated the profound impact he would have on me. I found myself unable to resist him, swept up in the currents of affection that surged between us. Every interaction seemed calculated, a strategic move to draw closer to him and by extension, the Kim Corporation. Yet, whenever we were alone, my heart ached for him. His pain became my own, and I felt an overwhelming compulsion to offer solace. He seemed so starved for affection and felt unloved, and I was consumed by the desperate desire to fill those voids for him," Jungkook revealed, his voice tinged with vulnerability.
Hyuna gently placed her hand on Jungkook's arm, offering solace in her touch. "I completely understand where you're coming from, Jungkook. But if we want to ensure our plan succeeds, you have to exercise extreme caution," she murmured softly. "Your safety is paramount, especially considering your commitment to protecting him."
