Kiley:
Mom and I were eating dinner at the table. My mind, elsewhere.
I felt a tap on my shoulder and my eyes gazed up at my mom. She gave me a worried look.
I smiled at her. I signed, 'I'm fine.'
'Sweetie, you've been dozing off... what happened at your first day of school?'
I smiled, remembering him. Andrew. He's such a nice boy. He helped me a lot today. He tries to understand me and that makes me happy.
But, I decided not to tell my mom about him...yet. She'll probably squeal or something if I even mention 'boy' to her.
'It was great, mom. Just a bit stressed because of math.'
It was true. Math has me all worked up and worried. Andrew said I was doing good, but I felt like I wasn't doing it right.
'Do you have homework?' She asked through signs and I nodded slowly.
Crap.
She signed again. 'After this, we'll go get them finished.'
I sighed, I don't know if loudly or very low, but I sighed.
'Fun.'
My mom smiled.
'Your dad would love to see you now.'
I gave mom a tight smile.
Dad is currently in the army, he's supposed to be back soon.
I miss him a lot.
