Kiley:

Tears slipped down my cheeks, trailing to my jaw and falling off my chin. The moon had come up and the stars joined right after.

I looked up at the night sky, the tears trailing down the corners of my eyes. "...why?" I choked out, sounding like a whimper.

I walked into the lake area, looking around. The moon's reflection in the water making the place a bit brighter.

I heard a sound, sorta like a stomp on the ground. I hid behind a tree and peaked over to see a dark-ish figure sitting on the muddy ground, close to the water.

Building up the courage inside me, I walked forward, past the tree, and approached the person. Once I was close, I heard he sobbed.

"Where are you?" He muttered and ran his fingers under the hood of his jacket. The hood fell back and I immediately knew who it is.

I wanted to answer his question, but I was afraid for some reason.

Placing my palm on his shoulder, I crouched down behind him and leaned my chin on his other shoulder, taking in his scent.

He stiffened and then his eyes shot to my direction. At the sight of me, he relaxed and I felt him smile.

All of a sudden I was in his arms, his body warming mine.

"I was so scared! I thought I'd lost you!"

A pang of guilt hit my chest. I left the house. I didn't go to school. I made him worry and caused him and my mother pain...

Damn it, Kiley...
