I was alone at the library, Kiley was at the girls' restroom. My eyes scanned through the pages in front of me.

I'm reading The Red Pyramid by Rick Riordan.

This book has me hooked and I've just picked it out of a shelf.

I felt someone beside me, I didn't have to look to know it was Kiley. She brought a book with her.

Paper Towns by John Green.

I'm guessing she's a romance lover. She started reading, in less than a minute she had already passed the page.

By the time the bell rung I was on page twenty-six and she was on page fifty.

I placed the book where it was and she stayed with hers. Making a stop at the librarian's desk, she pointed at the book.

The librarian gave her a questioning look. "Yes?"

I stepped next to Kiley and spoke up. "She wants to borrow the book, miss."

Her lips parted for a second and she nodded, giving Kiley a sorry look. Kiley just smiled and took the book when the librarian wrote something on the back.

"Thank you," I said and the librarian gave us a smile.

"No problem, sonny."

We stopped outside the library, Kiley signed.

'Thank you.'

I grinned.

'My pleasure.'
