Flashback 10 Years Ago ..

Tears streamed down the face of the young girl as she clung to the boy in front of her. His heart was breaking at the sight of her pain.

Yoongi: "Please don't cry, babe. You can visit me, and I will find ways to contact you. But you need to go. This is good for you."

The 15-year-old girl was a crying mess, her small hands clutching Yoongi's shoulders as if he might disappear if she let go. Her eyes were red and puffy from hours of crying.

IU: "No, I can't, Yooni! I want to be with you! What if they're not good people? I know the orphanage isn't the best, but you're here. I feel safe when I'm with you, Yooni. Please tell them not to take me away from here!"

Yoongi held her face in his palms, his thumbs gently wiping away her tears. His own eyes were filled with sadness, but he tried to stay strong for her.

Yoongi: "But I don't feel at ease while you're here, babe. Look what happened to Tae. I don't even feel safe for myself, so you need to accept this adoption. They're rich and seem kind. I promise if they're not good to you, I'll do anything to save you."

IU pulled away slightly, her shoulders shaking as she tried to control her sobs.

IU: "What about Jin Oppa? He's facing horrible treatment from his adoptive parents. What if they're the same, Yooni?"

He pulled her into a tight hug, resting his chin on top of her head as he stroked her hair. He closed his eyes, feeling her tears soaking through his shirt.

Yoongi: "No, they can't be like that. I will be there to save you, I promise. Just try for me, babe."

IU buried her face in his chest, her fingers gripping his shirt.

IU: "I don't want to leave you, Yooni."

Yoongi pulled back slightly and lifted her chin so she would look at him. His eyes were filled with love and determination.

Yoongi: "You're not leaving me. You'll just be living in another place. But you're still my love. We're together forever and ever."

A Few Months Later ...

Jin paced across the room, running his hands through his hair in frustration.

Jin: "Why did you make her accept this, Yoongi? I told you I would help all of you run away from there! She could be with you, bro."

Yoongi sat on the edge of the bed, staring at the floor. His shoulders were slumped, and dark circles had formed under his eyes from lack of sleep.

Yoongi: "I don't want her to suffer, hyung. She has a chance to have a family. Why would I hold her back? And look now—they turned out to be good people. They're treating her well, and she's living the luxurious life that I will never be able to provide for her."

Jin stopped pacing and stood in front of Yoongi, throwing his hands up in disbelief.

Jin: "Are you stupid, Yoongi? She doesn't want any of this! She just wants you! And her so-called 'kind' parents don't want you in her life. What will you do now?"

Yoongi looked down, unable to meet Jin's eyes. His fingers nervously played with a loose thread on his jeans.

Yoongi: "I don't know, hyung. But I can't be the barrier between her and having a happy life."

His face crumpled as he broke into heavy sobs, bringing his hands up to cover his face. Jin's expression softened immediately. He sat beside Yoongi and wrapped an arm around his shaking shoulders. Just then, the door swung open, revealing IU standing there with tears streaming down her face.
