Taehyung's POV:

The moment Namjoon hyung opened the door, I found myself engulfed in Jungkook's arms.

Namjoon: " I don't bite, you know!! "

Namjoon hyung crossed his arms above his chest, looking at how Jungkook was holding me like he wanted to hide me in his arms.

Jungkook: " I know, but you took so long and he needs to eat. "

He kept patting my back secretly so Namjoon hyung wouldn't see. Come on, you're too obvious.

Taehyung: " I'm fine, Kook. Nothing happened. You can relax and let me breathe. "

I guess my face is turning red. He's suffocating me in his hold.

He let go immediately and held my shoulders, making sure that I'm really okay.

Jungkook: "I'm sorry. Are you sure you're fine?"

I saw Namjoon hyung with the corner of my eyes rolling his eyes at Kookie's overreacting, and he left the room.

When he did:

Jungkook: "Tell me... what did he do to you? Did he scare you too much? I heard him shouting, but I couldn't figure out what you were talking about. Don't worry, I will talk to him so he won't scold you again."

I chuckled at how fast he's talking. He's now the overprotective brother. I'm so lucky to have him.

Namjoon hyung was right. I picked Jungkook because he will do whatever I ask him. He will never force me to do anything against my will. I can be selfish as much as I want, and he won't even complain. I shut Namjoon hyung out because I know I can't fight back when he's set on something. He will not force me, but he will knock the sense out of my mind even if he needs to beat the shit out of my ass with his logical conversations. He's not the one who will give up. He never raised his hand on one of us. I would choose some beating over a long logical conversation because his talk will make me change my mind. But if he beats me, I will keep my decision with some broken bones.

He told me he considers himself my father even if I don't. If he only knew, I always hoped for this. But he's just 3 years older than me. It's not fair to burden him with a father role with someone who is not stable like me. But I felt a wash of warmth when he said that. I felt protected. Now there's a back I can hide behind, and he will fight for me.

Jungkook's voice pulled me out of my thoughts.

Jungkook: "Hyung, why are you chuckling? And you're spacing out. What's going on?!"

He's so worried. I know that nothing has changed, but why do I feel better now?!

Taehyung: "You're so cute when you're mad."

He slapped my hand away from his cheek.

Jungkook: "HYUNG!! You know I don't like when you call me that. I'm even taller than you. What cute are you talking about?"

Skip your height and your broad shoulders - your eyes can beat Jimin's cuteness.

Taehyung: "Okay, fine, I'm sorry. But don't worry, your Namjoon hyung didn't do anything. You don't need to talk to him. Actually, I'm really feeling fine like I haven't since forever. And I'm so hungry. Feed me now. Who cooked for me, you or Noona?!"

Am I hallucinating, or do his eyes have joy in them? What did Namjoon hyung do? I swear I heard him shouting. How come it ends with this calm Tae hyung?!

Jungkook: "No, Noona is the one who cooked for you."

We were about to get out of the room when Jimin at light speed ran to Tae, hugging him and making him stumble 2 steps back.

Jungkook: "Hey Jimin, watch out. Your hyung is not that fine."

Jimin: "You are all mean. I was there all the time. Just because I took a small nap, you opened his door and took him for yourself. You should have woken me up when he opened his door."

He didn't let go of the tight hold on Taehyung's waist but raised his head to look into his eyes.

Jimin: "And you, you are the biggest meanie of them. How could you be away from me all this time? Plus, you keep punishing me for skipping my meals. How can you skip all these meals?

Plus, there's news. Jin hyung told me there's a doctor who can heal us. Yes, I know, I didn't know too. So there will be a time we will not be afraid. We need to start today since you're out now. We need to be fine as soon as possible. But don't raise your hopes too much. Jin hyung told me it takes time. I don't know how much time, but as long as we are together, I don't mind. Baby steps work too.
