Author's POV :
Jimin: "Noona, noona! Where are you?" Jimin stormed through the main door, his footsteps echoing throughout the house as he frantically searched for IU. His eyes darted around eagerly, brimming with excitement as he called out for her.
IU: "I'm here in the kitchen, Jiminaaa!" she shouted back, her voice carrying a melodic warmth that directed him to her location. She was busy preparing lunch, her deft hands moving between cutting vegetables and stirring a pot on the stove.
Jimin threw his bag carelessly on the floor and ran to her, his face lighting up with joy. He wrapped his arms tightly around her from behind, pressing his cheek against her back in a gesture full of affection.
Jimin: "I missed you so much!" he exclaimed, his voice muffled against her shirt as he squeezed her tighter.
IU chuckled softly and turned around to face him, her eyes crinkling with tenderness as she returned his embrace. Her hands moved to cup his face gently before pulling him into a proper hug.
IU: "I missed you too, Jimin. But as I recall, I told you not to run or jump... your leg is not fully recovered." Her voice carried a hint of concern despite her smile, her eyes briefly glancing down at his leg.
Jimin smiled sheepishly, his hand reaching up to scratch the back of his neck in embarrassment.
Jimin: "Sorry... but I don't feel any pain anymore... I swear!" His eyes widened innocently, trying to convince her with his earnest expression.
She ruffled his hair affectionately, her fingers lingering for a moment before she turned back to her cooking with a small shake of her head.
IU: "Anyway... how was your day at school?" Her voice was casual but interested as she continued chopping vegetables.
Jimin pulled a chair closer to her, the wooden legs scraping against the floor as he positioned it to sit near where she worked. He sat on it, leaning forward with his elbows on his knees.
Jimin: "It was so much fun! The first three classes got canceled, and I had a great time with Taemin. He loved your food so much; he even asked if you could adopt him too. He's silly. But I refused; you're not going to adopt anyone other than me, right? I won't let you. I'm your only son; don't even think about it."
His words tumbled out rapidly, hands gesturing animatedly as his eyes sparkled with excitement.
"And then, we had the next class after our lunch break, and the math teacher explained mathematics graphs. I'm totally in love with math now. Minmin was about to cry; he didn't understand a thing. My poor friend. But I'll help him. You know... he doesn't like school; he doesn't even like studying. I don't know why... but I love it so much. One day, Yoongi hyung punished me because I skipped sleep to study. He was so mad at me, but that's also the reason why he started sleeping with me. I don't regret it now. I was so lucky that he gave me that punishment." His chest rose and fell quickly from speaking so fast without pausing for breath.
IU listened attentively to each word, her eyes filled with warmth and amusement as Jimin continued speaking rapidly, not giving her a chance to respond. She moved around the kitchen, stirring pots and checking the oven, while he followed her everywhere like an enthusiastic puppy, not stopping his chatter for a second.
Yoongi came into view, leaning casually against the frame of the kitchen door. His eyes softened as he observed the lively scene, a slight smile playing on his lips as he watched Jimin's animated storytelling.
Yoongi: "Wow, you have a lot to tell, little one. And when I ask you about your day, you just say 'it was fine.' Am I a bad listener, you brat?" Yoongi teased, his tone playful despite his mock-accusatory words. His eyes revealed his happiness at seeing Jimin opening up so comfortably to IU.
