you read out the message slowly and quietly to yourself as you felt your anxieties lift up and get higher. Simon had read the message as well and he wasn't worried about it much; he was only worried for your safety. hes heard of the news speculation around about the virus as it was all over tv and the media and he had warned you at first and you didn't think much of it but now it worries you. he could practically feel the tension in your body rising as you set down your phone and stared blankly at the wall for a moment. you were strong but everything lately has been building up which has been causing you stress.

Simon placed his hand on your shoulder and squeezed it gently to let you know he was here and you broke your stare and looked up at him and took a deep breath.
"Well look at this fuckery ... .i mean this will pass over just like other viruses did right? Maybe it's a load of bullshit who fuckin knows.."
You muttered and sighed as you looked at ghost.
"We will be fine...will be visiting price and Gaz in a few days though just wanted to let you know. Laswell and her wife will be there as well. You don't have to go since I know you have your studies—"

"I'm going."
You cut him off quickly with a gentle yet sharp tone ,not even giving him the chance to finish his sentence. He pulled his hand away from your shoulder and let his hands rest at his sides and he let off a small chuckle knowing you'd go.
"Family is more important to me then some papers...I'll go with you. Plus with all this shit going it's better to see them."
You say in a somber tone as you speak, you turned for a moment back to your desk and started cleaning it up , closing your laptop and putting away papers and such into the pull out drawer underneath it.

You room grew dim and dark as the light from your laptop was the only thing illuminating the room. Simon took a good look at you for a moment and he looked at the back of your hoodie as he noticed you were wearing one of his old hoodies. The hoodie was black and had bright white lettering on the back that said 'lieutenant'. He remembered the first time he had landed you his hoodie and it was when. You were 14 , that night when you had been outside on the roof and got caught but ghost. You remember that day so vividly and you hadn't really realized how much comfort his hoodie actually brought you but over time you did and you worn it often ever since.

"Alright dusk. I made dinner for me and you so wash up and get downstairs yeah? It also seems you've taken a very nice liking to the hoodie heh"
Simon ruffled your hair and you gave a small smile that started to grow wider as heard your name that had been given to you years ago. you playfully pushed him away from you and shook your head as you watched him walked out of your room and downstairs into the kitchen. You heard the creak of the stairs echo as Simon walked downstairs and you felt a little happier just from Simon's presence.

Simon had custody over you , that's how he gotten you to live with him. You were grateful for him and Simon never thought he'd adopt a kid but you came into his life and he couldn't just turn his back after what happened. Often you remember moments with graves and it makes your blood boil but you also still feel that feeling of betrayal deep within you. You remember the blood that was shed , the tears and even grimm. You were sure that graves was in prison somewhere and you wanted him to rot but deep down inside you, you wished that his words were true. It felt so unreal in that moment when he had betrayed you and the others.

You still remember they days you stood in the medical bay on base where nurses and others had to evaluate you for your condition and mental health. Everything had taken such a toll and they just wanted to make sure you were okay but now you were fine and okay and Simon made sure of that.the time was currently 6:30 , it was dark out and pretty cold considering where you were at and dinner time was just over an yku shook your head an You stepped out of your room and you closed the door behind you. You walked down the hallway to the bathroom and you went and washed your hands before drying them and you quickly skipped down the stairs and went into the kitchen and you with hit with the strong smell of Chiken soup.

"Damn smells good."
You smirked as you saw ghost placed down a bowl in front of you as you sat at the kitchen island to eat. The kitchen was pretty big along with the living room. It was a two bedroom and two bath apartment along with a nice sized kitchen and living room. The apartment was relatively quiet and empty as Simon didn't really do well with home decor so he kept it mostly looking like a military base where everything was neat and in a sort of military style.
Simon set his own bowl down and he pulled out a seat an sat next to you.

"You need to eat more , youve been forgetting lately."
The Brit's voice came out gently as he lifted his mask half way only showing his lips and he picked up his spoon and got ready to eat.
Simon only really lifted his mask halfway around you but with others he wouldn't dare do that. He had a sharp jawline some stubble on his face with a decent sized scar across his lips. As you heard his words and you cocked an eyebrow at him and tilted your head.
"How'd you know?"
You spoke as you lifted your spoon to your lips as you began to eat. The hot liquid of the broth enetering your mouth , the taste of Chicken and spices hitting your tongue. The soup consisted of chicken broth, noodles , carrots and vegetables.
Simon knew the basics of cooking as he was never really taught in his younger years but now he started picking up on recipes from laswell and price.

"I know because the sink isn't piled with cups."
He gently nudged with his shoulder and you let off a small smirk.
"Yeah yeah I know about my cup collection from my room no need to remind me"
You playfully rolled your eyes as you and him ate the soup he served. Simon shook his head and he got up for a moment and grabbed the remote to the tv and he flicked it on and decided to turn on the news. You turned to watch as well and the news was just talking about the virus and you sighed and shook your head.

"Yknow is this virus actually real or is this a cover up for some bigger shit like how they always do?"
You muttered and simon shrugged.
"Most likely , shits gonna hit the fan but your batshut crazy I think you'll live. Hell you literally punched a guy out in public last week and your lucky i wasn't around to do it for you."Simon said in a protective manner and he shook his head and you laughed.
"That fucker deserved it he was being a creep so naturally he got his ass kicked."
You chuckled.
"That's because I taught you properly how to fight."
Ghost spoke and you gave a nod.
"Yknow the whole virus situation seems unreal but real , there's so much shit and symptoms to it and death rates are going up"
You spoke as you gestured to the tv.

"Yeah , hoping none of the bastards back in the states catch it."

As you and Simon finished eating dinner you thanked him and went into the kitchen to help him clean up. You stood over at the sink with your sleeves rolled up to your elbows as you washed the dishes , water splashing slighting onto the front of the hoodie you had been wearing an Simon cleaned up the counters and such. As you finished up you washed and dried your hands and you went up to your room and you started packing early for when you and ghost wound take a plane to the states to go see laswell and the others.

As you enter your room you walked and you opened the closet to pack for the long journey ahead, you reach for a small suitcase sitting on the top shelf. The suitcase is a simple, sturdy one, with a handle and a lock on the front. You open the closet door and look at all the things you would normally pack for a long trip, from your favorite pajamas to your favorite pair of pants, and even a few hoodies and a med kits just in case you need them. As you carefully stack and organize everything into the suitcase, you feel a strange sense of excitement and anxiety wash over you. You know you'll be getting to see the rest of you little family again and you'll be able to see them once more.
