I woke up to someone grabbing both sides of my arms dragging me. "Alexander?" I say not fully aware of where I am
I feel myself fall and hit the cold ground before I start to re-gain full consciousness. I look up to see Alexander beside me "Alex!!" I yell and pull him into a hug "Lizzie! You're ok!" He says "Yeah yeah I'm ok" I smile but the moment was soon ruined by someone clearing their throat
"Welcome back" he says I look up to see a man I don't recognize "Who are you?" I ask "I'm the new leader of Hydra." He tells us "What happened to the other one?" Alexander asks "You've been asleep for 30 years. Your other leader is long gone" he says with a smile "What?" I ask in disbelief "No no there's no way" I add "I'll leave you for now. Tomorrow you start more experiments and training." He tells us then walks off
"You know technically that makes us 39 and 36 if you think about it" Alexander says trying to lighten the mood up "So technically we should both be married and have kids" I say "You're right. If you had kids how many would you have and what would there names be?" Alexander asks me "I would have 3 kids. Two girls one boy. The girls names would be Maddie and Kelsey. And the boys name would be Billy. What about you?" I ask "I think I would have 2 kids. Both boys. Their names would be John and Howard." He says
There was a silence between us before I spoke up again "Do you ever think about what are life would be like if none of this happened?" I ask "I have yeah. We would be traveling the world together. Then we would find a place to settle down, that's where we both meet our spouses. We would live next door to each other so we could spend time together whenever we wanted. Just like old times " he tells me "I like the sound of that" I say smiling "Maybe one day that could happen" I add "Yeah, maybe it will" he says smiling back
"We should get some sleep" Alexander tells me I nod before we both lay down Alexander falls asleep quickly but I couldn't. Millions of things running through my mind I decided to sing the last song I remember to try and calm my mind.
"Lavender's blue, dilly dilly, Lavender's green When you are King, dilly dilly, I shall be Queen Who told you so, dilly dilly, Who told you so? "Get up!" We get woken up by "Today you will go through more experiments then training" he tells us
Alexander and I both get put into separate rooms. I get hooked up to all these wires and I see a bunch of needles on a tray next to me. "What are those for?" I ask "Today you will be giving what is called super soldier serum. It will enhance your physical abilities." The scientist tells me I nod before they start to grab the needles As soon as they enter my arms and legs my whole body feels like it is on fire
I tried to hold in my scream as long as possible before I couldn't anyone. I let out scream after scream before the pain finally stopped
"Stop please. Please no more" I beg A guard comes and grabs me dragging me to the training room
"You will fight hand to hand combat till you can win" the guard tells me My body feels exhausted but also strong. I look up to see a guard 5 times my size ready to fight.
I put my arms up and start to attack. The moment I do, I realize my movement is faster, my muscles are stronger. The serum worked.
It wasn't long before I had the guard pinned down. The leader seemed satisfied enough to let me go back to the cell. Once I got there my body collapsed. I wanted to go to sleep in that moment but Alexander wasn't in the cell. I wanted to make sure he was ok before I did.
It wasn't long before Alexander was thrown into the cell as well. He looked in worse shape than me. He didn't even move from the position he was in. I crawled over to him and put his head in my lap "Are you ok alex" I ask "Everything hurts" he says "Shh shh it's ok. Just get some rest" I tell him
I fell asleep quickly before I was woken up by a nightmare. I stayed awake for the rest of the night not wanting to see those memories again. After a while alex woke up and looked better than he did last night.
"Did you get the serum too?" I ask "Super solider serum. Yeah" he said "It didn't work on me though" he adds "What?" I say "They put it in and brought me to the training room but it didn't work. My strength my speed nothing was enhanced. So they brought me back and did it again. Over and over again but it never worked." He explains to me I just look at him in shock. Why did it work on me but not him I was about to tell him it worked on me but I was interrupted by a guard opening the cell door
"You need to go under more experiments" he tells Alexander "You need to go train" he tells me He brings me to the training room before taking Alexander away. The leader was inside waiting for me "Today you will learn more hand to hand combat, and weapon skills." He tells me
The day was long and tiring. I trained for over 13 hours and still no sign of Alexander.
The guard brought me back to my cell where I see Alexander on the ground beat up
I quickly run to him "Alex!!" I say "Alex what happened? Are you ok" I ask in a concerned voice He nodded to me I just held him in my arms crying. What more can we take. We're only children
