Wanda and I were out on two opposite ends of the city, my eyes burning bright blue as the same blue left my hands. Both Wanda and I were controlling people to evacuate and it was working. But in a matter of seconds Ultrons bots started coming up out of the ground. I let go of the people's minds and made a force field to protect the them. "Go!" I yelled I started running as well before the ground started to shake causing me to stumble "Do you see?" I voice echoed "The beauty of it, the inevitability. You rise, only to fall. You, Avengers, you are my meteor, my swift and terrible sword and the earth will crack with the weight of your failure." He says "Purge me from your computers, turn my own flesh against me. It means nothing. When the dust settles. The only thing living in this world... will be metal." He finish's
"Everyone away from the edges!" I yell to the people Buildings started to collapse as I hold one up before it lands on a group of people "Run!" I yell again and they take off I let the building fall before I take a second to breathe
"Stark, you worry about bringing the city back down safely. The rest of us have one job: tear these things apart." Steve said through the comms "You get hurt, hurt 'em back. You get killed, walk it off." Steve finishes "Some pep talk" I mumble
I start to tear apart every bot in my way. Blue era surrounding each one
I felt Wanda's fear and quickly read her mind hearing what Clint was saying to her. Then once I could feel him stop talking i spoke to Wanda "Wanda you can do it" I say "I can't Liz, I can't. I'm afraid" she tells me "Then do it afraid" I say I could feel herself calm down before she stood up
I tear apart another bot coming at me before I decided to speak to Clint "Dont let Wanda die and I might let you live" I say chuckling "What the fuck!" I could hear him yell in his head "Maybe a little bit of a warning next time" he says "No can do sir" I say before going back to fighting
"Alright, we're all clear here." Clint says through comms "We are not clear! We are very not clear!" Steve yells killing another bot
I saw a bot coming up behind Pietro I quickly destroyed it as Pietro turned around "You know. I'm older, I should be the one protecting you" he laughs "You know you actually not older right?" I ask him while still fighting We finally cleared the area as Steve spoke up "The next wave's gonna hit any minute. What have you got, Stark?" Steve asks "Well, nothing great. Maybe a way to blow up the city. That'll keep it from impacting the surface if you guys can get clear." Stark told us "I asked for a solution, not an escape plan." Steve said looking out "Impact radius is getting bigger every second. We're going to have to make a choice." He said sadly I started to zone out but a voice pulls me out of my thoughts "I mean, where else am I going to get a view like this?" Romanoff says "Glad you like the view, Romanoff. It's about to get better." A voice I didn't recognize says through the comms. And just then a big ship made its way into our view. "Nice, right? I pulled her out of mothballs with a couple of old friends. She's dusty, but she'll do." The man said "Fury, you son of a Bitch." Steve replied, just then I noticed the Shield logo printed on the side. How I was definitely wrong about shield . "Oooh! You kiss your mother with that mouth?" The guy named fury said
"This is Shield?" Pietro asked from beside me "This is what Shield's supposed to be." Steve told us "This is not so bad." I said "Let's load 'em up." Steve yells. We ran back to where the people were hiding telling them to move to get on the carriers. "Thor, I got a plan!" Stark yelled "We're out of time. They're coming for the core." Thor told us "Rhodey, get the rest of the people on board that carrier." Stark told him "On it." The Man replied. "Avengers, time to work for a living." Stark told us We all made are way to the core I quickly run up to Pietro and Wanda. "You good?" We all ask at the same time "What's the drill?" Natasha asks "This is the drill." Stark said pointing at the core. "If Ultron gets a hand on the core, we loose." He explained
Ultron floated down hovering over the ground "Is that the best you can do?!" Thor yells out Ultron holds up his arm as hundreds of more robots appear. "You had to ask." Steve said to Thor. "This is the best I can do. This is exactly what I wanted." Ultron said "All of you, against all of me. How could you possibly hope to stop me?" He tells us "Well, like the old man said. Together." Stark said looking at steve.
At that moment all the bots came flying at us. Any bot that came close to me was surrounded by my blue era and torn apart. As the bots slowly became less and less ultron tried to attack vision but was met with his laser thing Tony's blasters and thors lighting
Once they stopped ultron was about to say something but the hulk quickly punched him away
"They'll try to leave the city." Thor yells out as some bots tried to leave "We can't let 'em, not even one. Rhodey!" Stark said "We gotta move out. Even I can tell the air is getting thin. You guys get to the boats, I'll sweap for stragglers, be right behind you." Steve told us "What about the core?" Clint asks "I'll protect it." Wanda was quick to say "It's my job." She added and Clint nodded at her. Pietro Wanda and I were the last ones left "Get the people on the boats." Wanda told us "I'm not going to leave you here." Piet said. "I'm not leaving either." I added "I can handle this." Wanda said as she blasted a bot behind her "Come back for me when everyone else is safe, not before." She told us "Hmm." Pietro hums "You both understand?" Wanda asks "You know, I'm twelve minutes older than you." He said to Wanda "You gotta stop using that. You sound like me" I laugh "Go." She laughs as well before Pietro grabs me and takes off
"Is that the last of them?" Thor ask. "Yeah. Everyone else is on the carrier." Cap told him "You know, if this works, we maybe don't walk away." Stark said through the comms "Maybe not." Thor replied.
Just then a small jet started shooting down at us. We quickly jumped out of the way falling backwards As I started to get up I felt something tug in my heart. The dust finally cleared and I saw Clint holding a small child a car in front of them, and Pietro struggling to stay standing. Multiple bullet holes in his body "No!!" I screamed running over to him But there was nothing I could do. I looked up at the jet and used my powers to slam it down before turning back to Pietro "Please Pietro, please I can't lose another brother" I cry into his shoulder
I felt Steve's hand on my shoulder as he helped me to the carrier. They laid Pietro down and I laid on the seats next to him. No energy left in my body. I quickly spoke to vision in my head "Vision, please get Wanda out of there" I say I could feel like take off flying to go get her
I look at Pietro and put my hand on his eyes to close them. "I'm sorry I couldn't save you" I cry while holding my necklace
Two brothers have died. And I couldn't save either of them.
