"Okay, so how do we calculate linear acceleration between points A and B?" Ms.Warren asks the class Flash quickly raises his hand "Flash." She said "It's the product of sine of the angle and gravity divided by the mass." He answered "Nope" I mumble under my breath "Wrong" Ms. Warren she says and I try not to laugh "Peter." She called out. His head shot up "You still with us?" She asks "Uh... Uh... Yeah, yeah." He stutters "Uh... Mass cancels out, so it's just gravity times sine." He answers "Yep" I mumble "Correct." She says. "See, Flash, being the fastest isn't always the best if you are wrong." She tells him making the whole class laugh "You're dead" flash mouths to Peter next to me
"Let's move to the next question. What is the heaviest naturally occurring element?" Liz asks us "Hydrogen's the lightest. That's not the question. Okay. Yeah." He stumbles "It's Uranium." I mumble to MJ "Uranium." Abraham answers "That is correct. Thank you, Abraham." Liz tells him MJ gave me a glance confused on why I never answer any of the questions. I just shrug before turning my attention to Peter and Mr.Harrington. "Peter, it's nationals. Is there no way you could take one weekend off?" Mr. Harrington asked "I can't go to Washington because if Mr. Stark needs me, then I have to make sure that I'm here." Peter try's to explain Oh yeah that's the other thing. I am 99.999% sure Peter is Spider-Man They sound the same, they are the same height. Plus all the little things add up. I could just read his mind but he was my first friend, I don't want to do that without permission. Or I could he would technically never know
"You've never even been in the same room as Tony Stark." Flash says "Wait, what's happening?" Cindy asks "Peter's not going to Washington." Sally answered "No. No, no, no, no, no. No. No." Cindy mumbles "Why not?" Abe asked ringing his bell. "Really? Right before nationals?" Liz asked him "He already quit marching band and robotics lab." MJ added on. "I'm not obsessed with him. Just very observant." She added. That is to true "Flash, you're in for Peter." Liz said "Ooh, I don't know. I gotta check my calendar first. I got a hot date with Black Widow coming up." Flash tells us "That is false." Abraham said ringing his bell "What did I tell you about using the bell for comedic purposes?" Mr. Harrington says
The bell finally rang and I got my stuff ready to leave. I waited outside for Peter to come out. We walk back home together, we actually found out we live in the same apartments. I thought that was really odd at first but then I chose not to think about it.
I waited for 20 minutes and still no sign of Peter. I groan in disappointment. This isn't the first time he's done this. I start to walk home by myself. Once I get there I text Peter
"Thanks for walking with me" I text him
I put my phone down and don't pick it back up for the rest of the day, not wanting to see if he even answers.
"Hi. I'm Captain America." Steve says in the video "Weather you're in the classroom or on the battlefield." he starts to say but I stop listening not wanting to hear it knowing I can't visit him. I start listening to conversations around me thanks to the super soldier serum and hear Ned and Peter talking "Do you know him too?" Ned asks, I lift my eyebrows in confusion "Yeah, we met." Peter told him. "I stole his shield." Peter added Holy shit!! He is Spider-Man!! I knew it, I fucking knew it!!
Coach Wilson blows his whistle snapping me from my thoughts. I need to talk to Peter, asap.
I was doing sit-ups just a few rows down from Peter and Ned who were in a intense conversation from my view
"Peter knows Spider-Man!" Ned yells and I quickly turn to look at them. "No, I don't. No. I... I mean..." Peter stutters "They're friends." Ned added "Yeah, like Coach Wilson and Captain America are friends." Flash mocks them "I've met him. Yeah. A couple times. But it's, um... through the Stark internship. Mm-hmm." Peter stutters out "Yeah, well. I'm not really supposed to talk about it." Peter said turning back to Ned "Well, that's awesome. Hey, you know what? Maybe you should invite him to Liz's party." Flash tells him "Right?" He asked Liz. "Yeah, I'm having people over tonight. You're more than welcome to come." She tells him See Ned told me Peter has a crush on Liz. I find it very annoying. Don't ask me why. I don't really know either "Having a party?" Peter asks "Yeah, it's gonna be dope. You should totally invite your personal friend Spider-Man." Flash says "Um..." Peter stutters again "It's okay. I know Peter's way too busy for parties anyway, so..." Liz starts to say "Come on. He'll be there. Right, Parker?" Flash said walking past him as the bell rang
I walked over to Ned and Peter talking. Ned immediately stopped talking once I was close to them. Peter turns around to face me "Can we talk?" I ask looking completely serious "Uhh y-yeah" Peter says "Meet me outside of school. Actually show up this time" I tell him "Yeah I'm sorry about tha-" he starts to say "Save it and just meet me outside" I tell him then walk off
Once Peter showed up we started walking home, it was completely silent the whole time.
We get into the elevator and I press my floor but not Peter's Peter reaches out to press his but I slap his hand away "Wha-what are you doing?" He asks me confused "I said I wanted to talk. We're talking in my place" I tell him "Ok" he mumbles
The door opens and I walk to my apartment. I open it and let Peter in before closing and locking the door
"You live here by yourself?" He asks me as I start to put my stuff down "Yep" I say I walk over to my "living room" area "Sit" I tell him He walks over and sits slowly "Listen. I have a very VERY important question I'm about to ask you." I tell him He nods to me "And I need you to be completely honest" I say looking at him "Ok" he gulps "Are you Spider-Man?" I ask He's eyes go wide "Wha-what?! What are you talking about. No-no no I'm not" he stumbles I just stare at him I roll my eyes before taking my hand and using my powers to bring me my cup. He just stares wide eyed at me as I sip my drink
"YOURE THE SAPPHIRE?!?!?!" He yells "Shhhh!!! What are you doing!? There's no need to tell the whole apartment building!!" I whisper yell at him "I'm sorry I'm sorry! It's just- well you're THE sapphire!!" He says "Yeah and you're THE Spider-Man!" I say the same way back to him "Oh well yeah sorry I lied I just didn't know that you were THE-" he starts to say "Ok ok I get it! I'm THE sapphire would you quit saying it for goodness sakes!" I tell him "Take a breath" I put my hands up making him sit down again "Ok yeah yeah breathe" he mumbles to himself "Ok so let me get this straight. You're the sapphire. I'm spider man. You and I fought at the airport. We go to school together. How are you not in a cell? I thought they were putting you guys in prison?" He asks me "Well technically they did. Tony got me out. There's a whole story with that but everyone's on the run at the moment, including me" I say "How haven't they found you? I mean you literally go to school" he asks me again "Well I use my powers, every time I go to school I use my powers so no one recognizes me. That's why you didn't either. I also changed my name. My real name is Elizabeth not bella" I tell him "Holy shit this is a lot to take in" he mumbles
We sit there in silence for a minute before he speaks up again "This is amazing! My best friend is the sapphire! You literally have the coolest powers ever! How did you get them? I got mine from the radioactive spider that bit me, it kinda hurt to be honest but you know I got powers out of it so not be bad" he starts to go off "Ok slow down boy. First off I would rather not talk about where I got my powers. Second that's actually pretty cool not going to lie" I tell him "Oh oh ok. Umm" he mumbles "Do you want to just hang out?" He asks me "Sure why not" I tell him
We spend the rest of the night hanging out and watching movies. It's nice to realize he wasn't just avoiding me all those times he was just trying to hide the fact that he was Spider-Man.
We told me stories of his life and about how he's waiting for Tony to call him back for another mission. It was honestly kind of cute the way he would go off on rants about- hold on! Did I just say cute?! No no I didn't it's fine. I'm fine. Nothings going on. Right?
