➵ SOMEBODY'S WATCHING ME- ROCKWELL
'tell me is it just a dream?'It had been a week since the first task of the tournament. Rory and Cedric had been trying to figure out the clue inside of the egg— so far, they had gotten absolutely nowhere. "Come seek us where our voices sound, We cannot sing above the ground- what could it mean?" Cedric groaned.
"I don't know, Ced. Thats what we've been trying to figure out for the past week!" Rory exclaimed, completely exhausted.
Rory and her brother were sitting in the library on a Sunday evening. There was a month left until the second task and Cedric had nothing planned.
"An hour long you'll have to look, And to recover what we took, But past an hour, the prospect's black. Too late, it's gone, it won't come. So we know that you have an hour to retrieve something they've taken and if you don't get it within the hour, you can't get it back." Rory added, staring at the song scrawly-written on the parchment.
"Yeah but we just need to figure out what theyre taking— and who is taking it." Cedric responded.
Rory ran her hands through the front of her hair and sighed. "Can we do this tomorrow evening? I need some time to think— and sleep." Rory asked.
"Yeah, of course." Cedric closed all of the books they had taken and put them back in their designated shelves. Rory linked arms with her brother as they left the library.
"Try and get some sleep tonight, okay? I know this will probably keep you up all night," Cedric said.
Rory laughed, "You know me too well."
"I'm being serious, Rory. I don't want you losing sleep over this."
"Ced, Don't worry. I don't sleep well anyways, it's not your fault."
He shook his head, "I know, but when you have something stressful on your mind it's harder to sleep."
"I always have something stressful on my mind," she joked.
Cedric rolled his eyes, "Promise me you'll try?"
"I always do,"
They had approached the Hufflepuff common room and Cedric started to slow down. "Meet me in the library after supper tomorrow?" He asked.
"You better be there on time!" she replied, walking away backwards.
"Love you!" Cedric shouted back.
"Love you more!"
Rory smiled and bowed her head as she continued her route back to the slytherin common room. After she had entered, Enzo surprised her with a kiss on the cheek. "Hello to you too," she chuckled.
"I missed you," He smiled.
Rory wrapped her arms around his neck and he placed his hands on her waist. She got really close to his face and they both smiled at one another, appreciating each other's company. "I saw you two hours ago,"
"Two hours too long,"
Rory laughed and rolled her eyes. She leant into her boyfriend's warm face and kissed him on the lips. After they broke apart, they sat down on the velvet sofa's by the crackling fire. "Did you two figure it out then?" Enzo asked.
Rory shook her head, "Nothing that we didn't already know."
Enzo frowned and slowly nodded, "Y'know, I overheard Krum talking to his mates the other day. He was saying something about the black lake. Maybe it's something to do with that? Didn't you say it said 'come seek us where our voices sound, we cannot sing above the ground?' Maybe its referring to the water?"
