SPACE SONG - BEACH HOUSE
'It will take a while to make you smile. Somewhere in these eyes, I'm on your side.'

Once Victoria had left the cottage after cleaning both Rory's & Remus' wounds, Rory found herself making tea and buttered toast. She was weak. After the events of the burrow two days ago, she'd felt odd. Something didn't feel right.

She hated how easily they could get to them— how easily they could get to Harry. They didn't even see them coming.

Rory then thought about how close she was to avenging Sirius. Bellatrix was mere metres away from her but Remus' grasp held her back. She resented him for doing that— but she also understood. Rory was fully aware that she was the sole purpose for Remus and if she were to get hurt or even killed, Remus wouldn't be able to hold on any longer.

She admired him for how long he had held on. For starters, he lost two of his best friends and the love of his life in one night. He lost his daughter and nephew. He went through one hundred and forty-four full moons without anyone by his side. Now, he had lost his husband again and his daughter inherited his condition— which he never thought was possible, nor likely.

Rory always thought she had got her perseverance from Sirius; but seeing Remus like that the other night, she changed her mind. Remus was the one she got her strength from. He was the one she got her unwillingness to give up, determination and vigority from.

Rory wore her black headband today, alongside; a pair of grey jogging bottoms and her Slytherin quidditch jumper. She sat in the living room with her tea and toast with the television on before her. It was on the muggle news channel, which she found surprisingly interesting. NASA's 1st Mars rover launched from Cape Canaveral. Rory had no clue what NASA was, but thanks to astronomy, she knew what Mars was.

Remus strolled into the living room, sitting down next to his daughter. He could smell the toast from the other side of the house. If he was being completely honest, it hurt his heart to see Rory making the very same meal Sirius would make for her after a full moon. Rory hadn't even noticed, but of course Remus did.

"You okay, sweetheart?" he asked.

She smiled and nodded, "My head still hurts and these bastards are still stinging but other than that," she sighed, looking at her fresh wounds on her ankles, "I'm as good as gold."

Remus frowned, "They'll heal quickly, they're not too deep, Vick said so herself."

Rory nodded, taking a bite of her warm toast. "Can Enzo come over later?"

"Yeah, I was just about to ask if you wanted someone round. I've got some stuff to do in the garden so that should be fine." Remus smiled.

Rory smiled and put her plate down. Remus started to get up but Rory stopped him; "Dad." she said. He raised a brow and sat back down. "Yeah?" he replied.

"I saw Sirius' constellation the other night at the burrow." she said, flatly. "I looked up and it was right there and it was so bright. I'd never seen such a clear constellation before. I took it as my sign to avenge him that night."

Remus frowned, "I know, sweetheart. But I couldn't risk her getting to you and doing exactly what she did to Sirius. I wouldn't be able to live with myself, Rory."

"Yeah, I know." she sighed. "Why didn't you try to kill her too? I know you hate her too— probably even more than I do."

He shrugged, "I've learnt to manage my rage ever so slightly over the years. I knew that if I went after her in that moment, you'd be left defenceless and I would've left you— which was something I wasn't willing to do. You're my main priority in every situation, pup."
