➵ MY TEARS RICOCHET - TAYLOR SWIFT
'And so the battleships will sink beneath the waves.'Rory laughed as the room chanted Ron's name in a massive circle. Gryffindor had beat Hufflepuff less than ten minutes ago and there was already a party in their common room. Ron had played amazingly though, Rory had to admit.
Apparently, according to Hermione, Harry had put a drop of liquid luck in his drink. Rory didn't know whether she believed that though. Harry wasn't like that. Enzo believed it, however. The trio sat and gossiped through the whole match in the stands.
Gryffindor banners flew up into the air and confetti floated around the room. The only sound heard were the chants of Gryffindors as they surrounded Ron. Seamus was especially loud, Rory could hear his loud Irish accent over the top of everyone.
Harry, Rory, Hermione and Enzo stood to the side of the room, simply observing with smiles. Rory downed the remaining firewhiskey in her cup as she watched. They were proud of Ron, but didn't feel the need to chant his name in a circle. That was too far, Rory thought.
"You really shouldn't of done it." Hermione spoke, her eyes locked on Ron, however. Harry, Rory and Enzo all turned to Hermione in unison.
"I know. I suppose I could've just used a Confundus charm." he shrugged. Rory and Enzo's jaws fell agape.
"You didn't!" Enzo exclaimed.
"Hermione Jean Granger you cheating bugger!" Rory laughed.
"Shh! That was different— that was tryouts. This was an actual match!" she said in the most defensive tone Rory had ever heard. Hermione didn't like being told she was in the wrong. She rarely ever was.
Harry laughed and digged through his shirt pocket. Out came a small, full vial of Liquid Luck. He hadn't put it in.
"You didn't put it in." Hermione said, piecing it together. "Ron only thought you did."
Rory and Enzo shared a look and chuckled. "Knew he didn't have it in him." Rory laughed, shaking her head.
"Oi! I do have it in me! I just thought it wasn't the best, nor safest, option." Harry exclaimed, making Enzo and Rory laugh again.
However, all four of them froze as Lavender Brown stepped up to face Ron. She crashed her lips onto his and wrapped her arms around his head. Ron kissed her back, his hands flying to her torso. Harry, Enzo and Neville laughed and clapped but Rory turned to Hermione.
Tears filled her eyes and her hands trembled. The room echoed with cheers as the kiss deepened— but Hermione wanted to sob on the spot. She turned around, pushed past Dean & Ginny and exited the common room. Rory debated following her but made eye contact with Harry.
She nodded in Hermione's direction of exit and Harry nodded with understanding. After he left, Rory worried whether she made the right decision. She knew what Harry was like— he could be a very awkward person sometimes.
But sometimes he knew exactly what to say. That night when he sat outside with Rory at Grimmauld Place, admiring the stars, had always stuck with her. He had changed her mood with a snap!, which she was very grateful for.
She only hoped that the poetic, empathetic side of Harry would help Hermione right now.

"Rory! Oh my gosh! I feel like I haven't spoken to you in forever!" Padma beamed, hugging Rory briefly.
Rory chuckled, "I know right! Last time I spoke to you, Umbridge was in charge."
"Eugh. Don't remind me of that evil woman." Padma shuddered, earning a laugh from Rory.
