DECODE - PARAMORE
'How'd we get here? I used to know you so well.'

Rory sat on the bench in the changing rooms, her leg bouncing rapidly. She could hear the crowd outside the room— which excited her, but also terrified her. Rory had never lost to Ravenclaw before, but she was scared that that would all change due to her coaching skills.

Lexi stood in front of her and squeezed her shoulder. "Come on rors." she smiled. Rory took a deep breath and stood up.

Rosie walked behind Rory and Lexi as they met the boys in the middle of both changing rooms. The Ravenclaw team were announced and began their walk-on. Rory tapped her bracelet out of habit and sighed.

"We've never lost to Ravenclaw before— I don't plan on changing that anytime soon, d'you understand?" she said, ever so slightly aiming it at the two newest players.

"Got it." Kenning responded.

Since Lee Jordan had left school, the new school's commentator was Colin Creevey. He was a Gryffindor fifth year and quite good friends with Ginny— but that was all Rory knew. From what she'd figured out, he seemed like a nice person.

"Up next, we have the spectacular serpents! Here come Slytherin!" Creevey exclaimed. Mattheo squeezed Rory's arm and she let out a big sigh before stepping onto the pitch.

She looked up at her surroundings and all of a sudden, that nervous feeling disappeared. Instead, it was replaced with adrenaline and dopamine. A smile broke on her lips and she scoffed. She was absolutely in love with this sport.

She went the opposite way to her team to the middle of the pitch, as they took their places. She stood opposite Chang with Madame Hooch beside the pair. "Shake hands." Hooch instructed. Hooch was always a hard person to read for Rory. She could never tell whether she had liked Rory or not. She decided that Rolanda Hooch was utterly indecipherable.

Rory reluctantly shook hands with Chang, a fake smile on both their faces. Even Cho Chang knew they were going to lose. The fact Slytherin always beat them was a permanent weight on her shoulders.

Rory didn't hate— nor dislike— Cho Chang. She admitted, Cho was a terrible seeker and probably shouldn't still be on the Ravenclaw team. But, however, that didn't mean she didn't like her. She saw something in her brother. Rory never knew, or understood, whatever happened between her and Cedric, but she would always thank Cho for whatever it was. Cedric died a happy man. Rory supposed she had Cho to thank for that.

But, in this very moment, Rory couldn't think of anything better than absolutely destroying Ravenclaw— Chang and all.

Hooch gave her regular nod of approval, which meant each seeker could take their places with their teams. Rory flew upwards, hovering a few feet above Blaise.

She caught Theo's eye and he winked for support. Rory laughed and rolled her eyes in response. "We're going down, Lupin." he mouthed. Rory cocked her head to the side ever so slightly, processing his words.

"3...." Hooch began. Rory shook her head and cracked her knuckles & neck. "2..." said Hooch, tension building throughout the stadium. Rory suck in a sharp breath of preparation. "1!" she exclaimed. Blaise and Lexi passed the bludger between them before aiming at the Ravenclaw team's beaters. Mattheo was quick to throw the quaffle to Rosie, who then screamed at Kenning to get closer to the hoop before throwing it to him.

Kenning launched the quaffle towards the middle hoop and past the Ravenclaw's keeper, Grant Page. Rory beamed with pride and let a smile slip. The snitch was nowhere in sight so she didn't have to worry just yet. That happened a lot during quidditch as a seeker. There was a lot of sitting around.
