EVERMORE - TAYLOR SWIFT
'Can't not think of all the cost, and all the things that will be lost.'

Rory walked through the second floor hallway with Harry, Hermione and Enzo after their previous potions lesson; "It's so easy for them to get to you! You're bloody lucky you weren't killed you three." Hermione reiterated. She had been non stop stressing about their safety since they got on the train. She seemed to be more concerned than anyone who was affected. "You have to realise who you are, Harry." she said.

"I know who I am, Hermione, alright?" he spat. She sighed and even Rory bit her lip. He was becoming even more prone to snapping a lot recently. "Sorry." he added.

The four of them stopped in their tracks when they heard Ron's croaky voice. "Lav, come on, of course I'll wear it." he said.

"That's my Won-won!" Lavender exclaimed, wrapping her arms around Ron's neck.

"Excuse me, I have to go and vomit." Hermione remarked.

Rory laughed, "Me too." She kissed Enzo on the cheek and he squeezed her hand before she linked arms with Hermione and went the opposite way.

Harry and Enzo walked further down the hallway together, bored of waiting for Ron to ditch Lavender. "You alright, mate? You seem a bit, I don't know, on edge." Enzo said.

Harry shrugged, "Everyone's staring again. I've never liked the staring."

Enzo sighed, "They'll soon forget about it. They're all just nosey buggers with nothing else to gossip about. It'll blow over."

"Thanks, Enzo."

"Of course."

Meanwhile, Rory and Hermione headed to the gardens. "God, it just drives me insane seeing them two together." Hermione spat, her tone passionate.

"You and me both. Lavender is way too in love with him. It's sad really. Ron clearly doesn't like her as much as she likes him."

Hermione shamefully smiled at that.

"Did you just smile?" Rory chuckled.

"No!" Hermione shot back, defensively. It took everything in her not to let a smile break.

"Sure you didn't." Rory said through her laughter before Hermione joined in.

However, the pair went silent as a familiar group walked past them. Draco, Pansy and Mattheo strolled past; Pansy & Mattheo's heads down with shame, Draco's held high with confidence. Rory could've punched him there and then if not for the place & time.

Rory caught Pansy's eye and half-smiled. Pansy blinked rapidly and pretended like she didn't see. Once they had turned the corner, Rory and Hermione let out a chorused sigh. Despite Hermione not liking Pansy like that anymore, she still cared for her ever so slightly; whether she liked to admit it or not.

"It's okay to miss them, y'know, Rory?" Hermione said softly as they emerged into the frosty, barren gardens. Rory sighed again and approached the nearest bench. She swiped off the leftover frost/snow and took a seat.

"I know." Rory shrugged.

Hermione bit her cheek and sat down next to Rory, facing her. "Occasionally, I see you watching them in lesson. I see how your face drops when they start whispering and tugging on their sleeves. You still care about them, Rory. Nobody is going to be annoyed at you for that."

She sighed and looked down at her bracelet, "I know. It's not like I'm not happy with you guys— I've gotten so close to you all recently and I love you all to bits." Rory added, Hermione nodding with a smile. "There's just that constant voice in the back of my head that reminds me of how much I miss them. Enzo has the same thing— I can see it on his face. It's the most horrible feeling, y'know, seeing your bestest friends turn into the very thing you thought they'd never turn into."
