Quinn was able to get a full month break from work in December, meaning she was leaving her friends in New York in the first week of the month to go spend the holiday season with her family in Montreal. She was sad to miss the New Years celebrations in New York but Colin had travelled up north on the 30th to spend New Years Eve with her and meet her family at the same time so it wasn't so bad after all.

Colin was a hit in the Sullivan family, which Quinn had expected in all honesty. By the end of the week he spent with them, Rory and Finley were already treating him like a brother, Mr Sullivan called him "son" and Mrs Sullivan knitted him a sweater as a late Christmas gift. He even got to meet some of the redhead's friends and they all loved him.

Quinn was simply happy to finally show her boyfriend where she grew up and everything that made her who she is. She showed him around the city, mainly the Forum and the Olympic Stadium where the hockey and baseball teams respectively played, and brought him to her favourite bagel shop to finally settle the debate they had been having since the beginning of their relationship: which city makes the best bagels, New York or Montreal? (He didn't want to admit it but he had to give it to her, Montreal style bagels were insanely good.)

Soon enough the couple were back in New York City and the first thing Quinn did after dropping her luggage at her apartment was to walk over to Monica and Rachel's. The whole gang was there and happy to see her after a month without the redhead around, each engulfing her in minute long hugs.

"So, tell me what did I miss– Oh my God is that a monkey?!" Quinn shrieked when she saw the animal climb on the coffee table, which made her jump over the back of the couch to get away from it.

"Oh right, you weren't there!" Ross remembered. It had been so long since he got Marcel, he forgot Quinn had already left before that. "That's Marcel, my pet monkey slash roommate."

Quinn's wide eyes flicked between Ross and the monkey a few times before she turned to Chandler with a worried look and whispered, "Is he serious?"

"Deathly," Chandler replied.

"And no one thought of staging, I don't know, an intervention or something?" The redhead continued with her questions.

"Come on, it's not so bad," Ross whined. "Marcel's a really good roommate."

"That thing," Quinn pointed to the monkey, "is never setting foot in my apartment, understood?"

"But–"

"No buts!" She interrupted Ross before he could argue. "Yes they might be cute and tiny but a monkey should be in the jungle or a zoo, and even that's a bit far fetched because zoos don't really treat animals correctly but that's beside the point. A monkey should not be living in an apartment in New York City!"

"Moving on," Monica said, trying to diffuse the tension that had risen in the air, "Joey kissed Chandler at midnight on New Years."

Quinn gasped in surprise, turning her head to stare at her two best friends. "And I missed it?! Ach man!" She whined.

"That's what you get for leaving us and spending New Years in Montreal," Joey childishly argued.

"Yeah but I got a picture of it," Ross said, handing the photo to the redhead.

"Oh, this is everything," she commented on the picture, holding it like it was precious art while Chandler rolled his eyes at her antics.

"And while you were gone, Phoebe had an intense love affair with a scientist called David but they had to end it because he's in Minsk for some science stuff," Joey whispered to Quinn after Phoebe left the room to go to the bathroom.
