"You broke a little girl's leg?!?" Monica shouted in disbelief at her brother once he was done telling the girls and Joey what happened after he came back from racquetball with Chandler.
"I know... I feel horrible, okay?" He answered while his girlfriend sat on the armrest of Central Perk's orange couch and tried to soothe him by rubbing his shoulders.
"You should!" Quinn exclaimed in offence. "Do you know how hard it is to walk around in crutches when there's snow and slush everywhere?" She asked him while throwing a hand behind her to point at the weather outside of the coffee house. The redhead still had at least one more week of using her mobility aids after her Thanksgiving injury and she was more than eager to be back on her feet; the amount of times she almost went flying around outside because of the state of the sidewalks could be counted on two hands.
"It says here that a Muppet got whacked on Sesame Street last night," Chandler read off the newspaper at the round coffee table then looked up to his college best friend. "Where exactly were you around ten-ish?"
"Well, I'm going to go see her..." Ross ignored him, feeling very bad and his friends weren't helping. "I want to bring her something, what do you think she'd like?"
"Maybe a Hello Kitty doll... The ability to walk..." Monica suggested, making the other girls giggle until Ross glared at Rachel and she retired herself from the conversation by going back to retraining.
"Alright, see you guys," He announced and stood up to make his way out.
"Look out kids! He's coming!" Chandler shouted in warning, making Ross drop his head at the jab.
"And I got to go sell some Christmas trees," Joey said after taking a look at the time on his watch. He pecked Quinn on her lips and got up from where he sat on the armrest of the green chair she occupied.
"Have fun," Phoebe told him. "Oh wait, no. Don't! I forgot, I am totally against that now."
"What? Me, having a job?" Joey questioned while putting on his winter jacket.
"No, no," the blonde put down her cup on the table before explaining. "I am against innocent trees being cut down in their prime and their corpses grotesquely dressed in like, tinsel and twinkly lights. Hey, how do you sleep at night?"
"Well, I'm pretty tired from lugging the trees around and it's harder to cuddle with Quinn with her knee injury so, not so good," Joey answered truthfully even though his friend's question confused him.
Chandler winced at his answer, knowing that wasn't going to help.
Joey crouched down next to the armrest of the couch upon noticing the emotion on the woman's face. "Hey, Phoebe, listen, you got this all wrong. Those trees were born to be Christmas trees, they're fulfilling their life purpose by making people happy."
"Really?" The blonde turned to the rest of their friends for confirmation.
"Y-yes," Chandler said after his roommate motioned for him to support his lie. "Yes and uh, the trees are happy too because for most of them, it's their only chance to see New York."
"Plus Pheebs, I read that they're starting to reuse Christmas trees," Quinn added in. "Like after Christmas season is over, the trees are brought back to Christmas trees farms, replanted so they can stay beautiful all year long and then when it's the holiday season again, they go back to work and their prime time lasts longer."
"Really?" Joey turned to his girlfriend in wonder. "That's so cool."
"Yeah well, still doesn't make it any right," Phoebe mumbled after taking back her coffee mug.
