fyi, things get a little steamy in here, like i might have to turn the mature rating on, and i'm debating including a little smut in this story. let me know if you'd like or wouldn't like that
Joey was boringly watching television on his Barcalounger when the sound of his front door opening and a soft "hi" from Quinn made him turn his chair around. His eyes roamed up her body before settling on her face, she looked as gorgeous as ever. She had on a brown, plaid maxi skirt that made her look taller than she actually was, paired with a black, long sleeved square neck top and her worn out black Doc Martens boots. Her hair was held in a bun at the base of her neck except for her shorter front curls that framed her face like a painting.
"Hey, what you looking all cute for?" Joey smirked at her.
Quinn blushed and shyly played with the rings on her fingers, caught off guard by the compliment. "It's just what I wore for work," she tried to answer nonchalantly. "I'm on liquor run duty for Rachel's birthday party," she told him, gesturing to the giant, empty (for now) tote bag she had perched on her right shoulder. "Do you wanna come with me? We haven't done anything just the two of us since that time I found you at my door after my office party and I thought–"
"Yeah of course," Joey smiled at her and stood up from his chair, interrupting her in the process.
"Cool." Quinn beamed back at him and the two made their way out of their apartment building in the direction of the liquor store.
A silence not quite comfortable but also not awkward settled over them while Quinn mustered up the courage she needed to tell Joey about her feelings. Granted, she would have preferred to have the conversation somewhere more private but when she noticed the park they were walking through as a shortcut was rather empty, she grabbed onto Joey's hand to pull him to a stop.
"Everything alright Quinn?" He asked her, a confused look on his face due to her action.
"I have something that I've wanted to tell you for some time now but we haven't had the chance to be alone just the two of us and I can't wait any longer," she blurted out in a fast pace, eyes round with nervousness and bright with hope as she stared at him back.
She felt Joey's thumb stroke over her knuckles, making her realise that she was still holding his hand from when she stopped him, but she didn't feel embarrassed as his simple gesture helped her calm down a little.
This is Joey, she reasoned with herself in her head, there's no reason to act all stressed about this.
Quinn closed her eyes and took a deep breath in before looking back at him with all of the love she holds for him conveyed through her gaze. "I don't really know how to word this in a more romantic way," she shyly giggled then continued. "I've done a lot of thinking about it, I even was put through a silly test by my friend Jonathon, and I realised that I have feelings for you Joe. Like real, deep feelings. Ones that I can't ignore because, to put it simply, I want you. In every possible way. And, if you feel the same and are willing to, I'd like to explore what these new feelings might bring us."
By the time she was done, Quinn's eyes had shifted down to stare where her and Joey's hands were still intertwined. Her determination and courage had lost its momentum the longer she spoke, making place for her shyness and nervousness to shine through.
Joey, with his free hand, softly raised her chin up so they could look in each other's eyes again. "I'd love nothing more than that, darling," he answered before leaning his head in and catching her lips with his.
