Ever since she was a child, Quinn had the nasty habit of biting her nails and the dead skin around them. It was something she has been doing all of her life and it used to make her mother go crazy. Maeve Sullivan had gone through every hack and tip that exists to try to make her daughter break out of her habit but none were a success. Yes, even the nail polish that doesn't taste good. But recently, Quinn had worn press-on nails when she attended the Calvin Klein runway show with Joey and Jonathon and she discovered that fake nails did stop her from biting her nails or her skin, on top of making her nails pretty. So she started tagging along with Rachel's trips to the nail salon, making it a new occasion to hang out just the two of them.
Except for today.
"You know, I can't believe I'm getting my nails done," Chandler complained. "And you said it was gonna be fun." The man then stretched out his left arm to have a better look at his nails while Rachel and Quinn glared at him. "Which it kind of is... Also, you said there were gonna be other guys here. There are no other guys here."
"Chandler, there's a guy right over there," Rachel pointed behind them where the front desk was.
"That's a mailman," Chandler argued. "That's our mailman!" And he waved at him in greeting as he passed by behind the trio to walk out of the salon.
"Okay, you and the mailman aren't the only guys here, Joey and Tom are literally down the back getting their feet scrubbed and massaged," Quinn reminded him.
"Yeah well right now, they're no men to me," her best friend scoffed.
"Wuss." Quinn mumbled under her breath as she rolled her eyes.
"What the hell am I sitting on?" Rachel wondered as she started moving around in her chair. She reached under her butt and pulled out a really long red nail. "I'd hate to think what this woman was scratching when this broke off," she laughed.
"Hey, you know who used to have nails like that?" Chandler asked.
"Don't tell me–" Quinn started but was interrupted by...
"Oh. My. God."
The trio all looked in disbelief at none other than Janice.
"Aw man, no!" They heard Joey cry out in a loud whine from the back.
"What's happening? Who made that noise?" Tom had leaned over to ask Joey. They were in a separate room for their foot massages, meaning they couldn't see the reunion happening next door.
"That's Janice," the actor complained but still explained. "She's Chandler's ex but they keep running into each other or getting back together."
"Oh," Tom breathed out in answer. "She bad?"
"Oh yeah!" Joey humourlessly laughed under his breath. "Just hope you don't meet her."
__________
Once done at the nail salon, Chandler and Janice left together to go talk while the others went back home, more precisely at Rachel and Monica's apartment, where the brunette and Phoebe also were.
"Guys, let me ask you a question," Monica said from where she stood next to the light switch. "This has been driving me crazy, what does this light switch do?"
"I don't know," Tom answered truthfully.
"Nothin'." Joey shook his head.
Monica glared at them with confusion spelled out on her face. "Didn't it drive you crazy to have a switch and not to know what it did?"
"I know what it did," Joey rebutted. "Nothin'."
"They wouldn't have put it there if it didn't do something," Monica argued. "How can you not care?"
