The Scorch (a sequel to The Maze)

The explosion was huge. When I was running the blast blew me 20 feet away. There was smoke everywhere and the sound of helicopter blades. When the smoke cleared and the helicopters were gone I went and checked who all survived. It seemed almost everyone of our group from the maze had been taken by Wicked. It was only a few of us plus the right arm. I walked over to Vincent and we wrapped our arms around each other and we both cried. We covered Mary up with a big scarf that was laying on the ground. I went to check on Aris. His eyes were glassy and he seemed out of it. 

"Hey." I said and went in for a hug. I didn't ask if he was okay because I knew that none of us were and probably wouldn't be for a while. 

I walked around made sure everyone was okay, physically some people had scratches and cuts but nothing too bad. Seemed that everyone ran when the bomb was thrown. But mentally no one was okay. I walked up to Newt last. He saw me and immediately embraced me in a hug. I didn't cry, I couldn't. I'd been so emotionally drained I was kinda just numb. I stood in Newts embrace for a while. He kissed my forehead and held me tight. 

"We will fix this." He said. 

"Yeh, as long as me you and Minho stick together we will make it." I said. "Speaking of, where is Minho I haven't seen him." 

"They took him.." newt said. 

"What?" I asked disbelieveing. I pulled away from him.

" Wicked, they took Minho." He said. Now I was angry. 

"We need to get him back." I said. Everyone started to gather twords me once they heard that. 

"You're crazy you can't do that." Someone said.

"Wicked isn't going to stop, they're going to keep taking kids and testing on them until they find a cure." I said. "So I don't know about y'all but I'm going to save Minho and take down Wicked, you can come with me or you can stay." 

"I'm going with you." Newt said. 

"So am I." Aris said stepping forward. There were more volunteers than I thought. Harriet, Sonya, Frypan, And a few more people all volunteered to go along with Newt and Aris and Me.

"Well then, let's go take down Wicked." I said with determination strong in my bones.
