"What?" I heard newt ask. I couldn't say anything I just stood still unable to find my voice.
"Hers says Jane A13 the visioner." Harriet said again.
"What does this even mean?" Vincent asked quietly.
"Jane, are you alright?" Newt asked me. I couldn't think of anything to say so I did what felt right. I ran. I ran up a small trail on the side of the mountain and sat on some rocks. Everything started to make sense now. All those times I thought I was just seeing things. Newt dying, the city, Jorge and Marcus, Sonya and Newt. I realized I wasn't just seeing things, I wasn't going crazy. They were real. Jorge and Marcus, the city, Sonya and Newt, those were all from the past. But Newt dying...no wonder it felt so real and scary. I was seeing the future. The visioner is what they said right? So these were visions. I had all sorts of new questions running through my mind.
'was it real?'
'is it real?'
'how?'
'why?'
'why me?'
'what if I can't prevent this?'
'what if...everyone dies..and it's all my fault?'
"JUST STOP!" I yelled tamping down the endless questions in my head. I couldn't believe this. This is crazy right? Right? 'Oh what am I even thinking. It's not like someone is reading my every thought and movement and saying because that'd be really crazy.' I thought to myself. As I was having this mental panic Aris came and grabbed me from my thoughts.
"Jane, someone needs you." Aris said.
"Who?" I asked.
"Some lady."
"Tell her to figure it out herself."
"It's about Brenda." He said now very serious.
"Take me to her." I said standing up and he led the way back down the mountain path and twords a tent.
