Sophia sat next to Hermione in the hall, trying to ignore the chatter she could hear around them. Her eyes brimmed with tears as she heard people talking about Cedric, her head was on Hermione's shoulder, whilst Hermione had her arm around her.
"What I don't get" Harry's voice shook as he spoke, "is why they all believed the story two months ago when Dumbledore told them...."
"The thing is Harry" Hermione started, Sophia looked up at her, "I'm not sure they did" people kept whispering, "oh let's get out of here" Hermione kept her arm around Sophia as they marched out off the hall,
"What do you mean you're not sure they believed Dumbledore?" Harry asked,
"Look, you don't understand what it was like after it happened.... The only way people knew was because..." Hermione looked at Sophia, she knew the answer. Her scream had alerted everyone, "was because of Soph's scream, and you just arrived back clutching onto Cedric..." Sophia bit her lip, she couldn't start crying, not now "none of us saw what happened in the maze... we just had Dumbledores word about how he died, and about how You Know Who had fought you" Sophia appreciated Hermione not mentioning him for a second time, she didn't know why she felt like she was going to cry whenever someone mentioned Cedric. She must be really bad at grieving, it surely couldn't take this long?
"Which is the truth!" Harry said loudly, they were all taken aback.
"I know it is Harry, we know it is! So will you please stop biting our heads off?" Harry sighed, "it's just that, before the truth could sink in, everyone went home for the summer and had two months of lies about you and Dumbledore shoved infront of them"
They then entered the empty common room, Sophia and Hermione sat in their usual seats and Crookshanks curled up in Sophia's lap, Hermione began complaining about Umbridge. They all started complaining about Umbridge. In order to stop Ron and Hermione arguing, they decided to do their homework. Sophia stared at it, mind blank.
Her eyes cast over to Fred and George, who were at the centre of a group of first years. They were handing out something, which made them all faint. Hermione had stormed over, and Sophia followed. Not because she was mad, but because she wanted to hug her boyfriend.
"Hey princess" Fred smiled as she walked into his arms, this was followed by Hermione shouting. Sophia buried herself in Fred's chest, "Hermione shhh, you're bothering Goldie"
"Nah she's alright, get him Mione" Sophia chuckled slightly, reassured Hermione kept shouting,
"Evil you are" Fred teased and kissed her head, Hermione then threatened to write to Mrs Weasley and Fred and George gave up fighting her,
"You tested them on yourselves?" Sophia asked, Fred looked almost upset with himself, "what if you had gotten ill or worse..... Freddie...." She whispered, she couldn't lose Fred. There was no way she'd survive that. She knew she wouldn't make it if she lost Fred. She nearly hadn't survived losing Cedric. Well, she was still battling her emotions at losing him.
"I'm sorry" he whispered, kissing her softly, "I'm alright though, yeah?" He tried, it didn't help very much. He then picked up her bag and took them up to his dorm.
When they'd gotten there, he'd handed her one of his shirts and left her alone to change, she didn't mind if he'd stayed. Once she had changed, he'd come back in. Just taking his shirt off and switching his trousers before climbing in with her. Sophia couldn't help but stare, his chest was freckled. He had abs too, perfectly toned ones, Sophia smiled and snuggled closer to him.
"You like what you see Goldie?" He teased, she nodded blushing, she moved closer into his embrace.
"Mhm" she replied, feeling her eyes close, Fred's arms wrapped around her, once again creating that feeling of safety,
