Two Clueless Shmucks

part 2

After their Mukbang video last night, Niko and Aj ended up going home together. Since both boys took an Uber to Chunkz's house, they figured they might as well Uber home together. The ride home for them wasn't too bad, but it was slightly awkward in comparison to how they usually were. Aj spent his time admiring Niko. He hadn't realised how pretty his best friend was until he really looked at him. Niko could feel him staring but he just figured Aj wanted to say something about their fight.

Today was a brand new day, with a whole bunch of arguing they could bet. See, Niko and Aj live alone. They used to have other people living with them like George and James and some other people. But they ended up moving out for different reasons. Almost the same way the Beta Squad moved out too. They don't live with each other anymore but they were still close. Aj and Niko decided to stay living together, even though they'd barely speak to each other in the house. It was stupid, but they both just couldn't sleep properly whilst knowing the other wasn't in the room next to them. But obviously they'd never tell each other.

But today was different for Niko. He hadn't realised how much he'd hurt his friend for not being around until their fight. So he figured he'd make it up to Aj quick. 

He woke up an hour earlier than he usually did just so he could make breakfast. He's noticed Aj stopped eating quite a bit so Niko has taken it upon himself to fix that. Even in the Mukbang video, he couldn't even eat his first container. Niko ended up feeding Aj on camera so it just looked funny to the people and Aj couldn't fight it, but in their heads both boys were very aware of what Niko was actually doing.

Niko made pancakes. Very basic, yes. But before his parents divorced, whenever they fought, they'd both make apology pancakes for the other the next morning. Or whoever was actually in the wrong. It was tradition that had come from his mum, since she was white. Niko's dad saw how happy it made Niko and started to do it too.

Well, today Niko was in the wrong. He knew that. So apology pancakes he would make. From scratch. Delicious. No mess. Somehow.

Aj woke up an hour later as usual. But it wasn't normal for the smell of food to be around at this time. It was 10AM and both him and Niko usually got up at this time. He walked into the kitchen and there stood Niko at the stove. He wasn't even aware Niko knew how to turn the fire on. He was wearing a cute little apron that Aj's pretty sure he bought for himself. He decided to go and talk to the taller man.

"Trying to burn the house down?" Aj asked, causing Niko to look up at his housemate

"Morning" Niko smiled at him "Sit down. Breakfast is on me today"

"Nah I'm not hungry. I'll eat later" Aj says

"Yeah at 7. Sit down Aj." Niko tells him seriously

"Fine, I'll sit. But doesn't mean I'll eat." Niko rolled his eyes. He knew he'd have to force Aj to eat again.

Aj took a seat and watched Niko cook. He wasn't too bad at it. Aj guessed you only panic when you're being timed plus you want to be first. 

Smells good too, Aj thought.

"Cute apron." Aj pointed out and smirked

"Thanks. It's yours." Niko smiled back, laughing, looking at the glare on Aj's face.

"I was wondering why it looked too tight for your lanky body." Aj smiled back

"No, I think you bought it in rat size, that's why"

"What you say?" Aj stood up, pretending to be mad

"Crazy, I didn't notice the difference between you sitting and standing"
