Sergio luckily found a way to contact Joaquin. He isn't in the best condition, but he said he will survive. He said he will call me and Eleandro later, when he gets the chance to.
Meanwhile, I can't stop thinking about how Zina is doing right now. Are her brothers treating her well? Has she opened up yet? Has she talked yet? Has she had any nightmares in the past couple of hours? Did she get out of bed?
The questions go on and on.
I tried calling Javi before, but he canceled my call saying he was busy. Apparently he didn't only stayed to help Zina, he also stayed because the doctors practically begged him to help with other patients too. Some of the patients came all the way from the east side to here, some of them barely breathing, asking for help. Now Javi is doing his best to help them as good as he can, while he's also checking up on Zina at the same time.
I hope Diego has sobered up a bit, and isn't this cruel to his sister anymore, especially not now when she needs him the most.
I'm still deep in my thought when I hear a knock on my door.
"Ingresar." I yell to whoever knocked.
(Enter)Sergio's face appears and I internally gag at the scared look on his face.
"Your brother told you to come downstairs. Apparently Joaquin called."
This spikes my interest and I jump up, and follow him to wherever Eleandro is.We arrive at a phone booth looking thing- one that I didn't know we even had- and I spot Eleandro already waiting on me.
"He called?" I ask him the obvious.
"Yes. He found a way to search contact. He won't be returning soon, because he is still looking for a few of our men that may be dead or not." Eleandro explains to me what Joaquin already told him.
Suddenly I hear Joaquin's voice coming out of the cellphone.
"¿Adrian? ¿Eres tu? I missed you man!"
(Adrian, is that you?)"Hola, amigo. I'm happy to hear you're alive."
(Hello friend)"Yeah, I was really close this time man. Esa serpiente is a fucking bastard. He might be even worse than before." Joaquin explains to us like long known friends.
(That snake)"What do you mean Joaquin?" Eleandro asks a hint of fear recognizable in his voice.
"I looked him right in the eye. Ese bastardo. I saw the rage in his eyes, and I can tell you, he came not only to kill some people, he came to destroy us." Joaquin explains. "However it looked like he was looking for something or someone, and I assume he didn't found it because he left unsatisfied."
(The bastard)"Do you have any idea what or who he was looking for?" Eleandro asks while I'm still processing the information he gave us.
"No clue compañero. Although he did yell a name to one of his men. I can't remember it. Mis disculpas."
(friend/ my apologies)"Okay thank you Joaquin you did what you could. Was there anything else you wanted to discuss?" I ask him finally regaining my voice after being quiet.
"Yes I heard you pendejos didn't think it was necessary telling me the useful information that you found her? What does she looks like?" He asks and we can both hear the curiosity in his voice.
(Assholes)Before I can say something, Eleandro already disciplined him.
"She's off limits pervert. She's our sister she isn't having a boyfriend until she's thirty." Eleandro answers getting slightly frustrated because of the nerve of our friend.
Though we both know we would be happy if Zina would find someone who's able to love her as much as she deserves, and take good care of her. Although if it were up to us, she wouldn't date at all.
"Okay, okay don't get your panties twisted dude. I was just joking." Joaquin tried to assure us even though I can swear I heard him mutter 'or was I?' after.
We hang up the phone after saying our goodbyes ans telling him to be safe and reminding him to let us know if the situation there changes.
After we hung up a silence strikes over both me and Leonardo. After a while I share my suspicions with him.
"Are you thinking what I think?" I ask him, assuming our minds are sharing the same thoughts.
"Yes brother, I know. He's coming to us."
After Lucas returned with the cream, and I massaged it in on my wounds, I immediately feel the pain withdraw until I'm left with just the remaining burning feeling I'm used to.
"Would you like to do something different Zina?" Lucas asks me and it surprises me. The past few days it looks like my brothers have been avoiding conversations with me. I don't know if it's because they don't know what to tell me or because I don't answer. Probably the latter because I know they did try in the beginning but I guess they gave up when they found out I wouldn't answer anyway.
I nod excited to Lucas' request and I see the happiness appearing in his eyes. Lucas loves to play games, and it seems the most with me although I obviously always win.
"What game do you like?" He asks me, and when I don't answer he nods understanding and adds: "Do you like Uno, Scrabble or Monopoly?" I hold up the 3 fingers, just because the name sounds fun. I have no idea what either of these games entail, but I won't make it obvious.
Lucas goes searching in his bag for the game 'Monopoly', and returns holding a fairly large box.
He explains the rules and we begin to play, me choosing the cat as the little figure who walks on the board, and him choosing the dog.
_________________________________________
After having played Monopoly for over an hour, I have a gigantic pile of Monopoly cash laying on my side, while Lucas only has 3 bills of 10$ placed under the board on his side. When he loses all of it by accidentally staying at one of my hotels, he curses and throws the money he owns me frustrated at me.
"Why are you so good at these games?! I literally have been playing them all my life! Tell me your trick! Wait, are you cheating!?" He accuses me.
"No, I'm not!" I yell out in frustration, being mad Lucas can't handle to lose.
I see Lucas stiffen and think about what's the cause of it, when I remember that I've talked to him for the first time.
After a few minutes of us just staring at eachother in shock, a small smile appears on Lucas' face.
"Good job Zina. I'm proud of you." He tells me as he shakes my hand, purposely congratulating me on my win.
But I know his congratulations have a double meaning.
