My eyes flutter open, and I see that I've landed in a white room. The door is white, the bed I'm laying in is white, and all the walls are a bright spotless white too.
My eyes feel heavy in their sockets, and they almost close again when I remember it would be best if I stay awake.
I try digging in my memory for the cause of me laying in this bed, when the images from before everything went black come back.
Nathan. He was here. At this school. In the city I thought I'd finally be safe in. I really, really thought I'd escaped my past.
However, I'm now laying in this bed, which looks like a hospital bed, and he's got to me.
Did he go to the same school as I did all this time? Did he go to the same school Lucas went to, without even noticing?
I blink slowly again, and the throbbing, almost unbearable pain, appears again in the back of my head.
I wince trying to get up, but eventually do it without too much pain. My limps function lazily, and I'm not sure I will be able to stand on my legs. Being able to sit up was a accomplishment already.
I make my eyes wander around the room another time, and now see that the hallway, which I thought would be the exact same white as the room I'm in, isn't that hospital looking at all.
On the opposite, now that I'm noticing, I hear a lot of murmers from faraway coming, and it looks like I'm still in the school, although I wouldn't have a clue where.
I try again standing up, but my legs give out and I stumble before I land on the ground with an audible tud.
I rub my knee in pain, and wince when I see a red bruise starting to form.
I try pulling myself up with help of the chair standing next to my bed, but right when I've lifted my but from the ground, an elderly woman with tiny glasses on her nose, and almost fierce white hair stumbles into my room, giving me a concerned look before coming over to me.
"Oh dear, let me help you!" She shrieks when she sees my laying form, and tries picking me up under my armpits and placing me back on the bed I toppled of.
When I'm sat, she talks again to me reassuring, while holding my shoulder in pity.
"Your brothers will be right here sweetie. Is there anything at all I can do for you?" She asks me, while still looking at me, eyes filled with pity.
"How did I get here?" I ask the question that's been replaying in my head over and over. I really thought Nathan finally got me, but I'm certain he wouldn't bring me to the school's nurse. In fact, he would probably take me to wherever and take advantage of me being out of consciousness.
"Oh sweetie, you should be really thankful Liam found you outside of the toilets. The poor boy found you totally out cold, and brought you here. He didn't know what'd happened, but told me to notify him as soon as you remembered. Said he was a friend of yours and that he was concerned." I nod rethinking everything I can remember over again. I technically never saw Nathan coming back for me when I was at that door, I just assumed it was him who followed me. I'm so thankful it was Liam who found me. He must be there just on time, and I'm happy he took me away. I do wonder how he thought I got into that condition though.
