After the first and worst period of the day, I survived trough literature- which I absolutely adore- and math and history.
In math, I had difficulties keeping my eyes open, but managed to because of Leanne's yapping. She really was good at talking once you got to know her better. I just answered with nods or 'mhm's here or there, but she didn't seem to mind as she went on talking to me.
I saw her at math and advanced English, but at those other subjects I had classes with different people.
I immediately managed to figure out who the queen bee of school was, and was shocked and grumpy when I found out she's in those classes I don't share with Leanne.
According to what her friends called her, her name was Tiffany, and she looks like she could easily be the daughter of the principal. That's just a guess though.
Normally, I would've thrown hands when she bumped into me while entering the class and not even apologized, but I told myself to keep my cool and just let her be so she wouldn't come at me. I can't afford being expelled in this school, and I assume they're really strict on discipline here.
However I was delighted when lunch break came through, I felt a little anxious at having eyes on me in the big cafeteria filled with masses of students.
And the fact I had to eat in front of them didn't lessen that feeling.
So that's why I walked into the cafeteria, head down despite the voice of Luca in the back of my head telling me to keep my head up and look proud, and stopped walking once I realized I had no idea where Leanne was or if I could even sit with her.
I also had no idea where Lucas was, and wasn't ecstatic to sit with him and his friends either.
That's why, I decide to walk around the cafeteria looking for my friend.
Friend. Female friend. I've never had a female friend and it's even better than I'd expected.
All of a sudden, I feel a hand on my shoulder and spin around almost faster than light, already holding my hands ready in case I need to fight with them.
Luckily, the hand belongs to Leanne, and she's laughing at my face filled with fear at her attack.
"I wanted to ask if you wanted to sit with me and my friends?" She asks pointing over to a table with one other girl and 2 boys around it. One of those boys I recognize as the boy who pissed of Leanne. I wonder why he sits with her then.
I nod hesitantly, nervous of sitting with a bunch of boys I barely even know the name of.
I accept anyway, having nowhere else to go.
They all greet me– the boys less happy than the girl– and I sit down next to Leanne.
They're all sharing a pizza pepperoni, and I just sit on my seat staring at them like a weirdo.
