After I ate lunch–which was a delicious Caesar salad– I tried sneaking back upstairs to continue reading my book.
That is until Javi calls me back to the kitchen.
"Zina? I–uh– actually organized something to do with all of us." He says a bit nervous of my reaction.
I look at him expectantly and wait for him to finish.
"Eleandro and Adrian don't need to work today, neither do I, so I made a reservation at a... spa!" He tells me excitedly.
I hear Lucas cheer next to me in happiness.
I guess he likes spa's.
"So we'll leave in about 40 minutes, so you should get ready and pack everything you need."
I nod and move upstairs.
I can hear Javi scold Diego because he probably sweared, and I gniffle under my breath.
I arrive in my room, and look around. I will probably need some swimming clothes, and maybe shampoo? I have no idea since I've never been to a spa before.
I strip from my pajama, and put on a bikini. I look in the big mirror standing against the wall in my dressing room, and look at my broken body.
My stomach still looks horrid, and a few blue and yellow bruises are still present. My wrists aren't any better, but I know that this isn't anyone's fault except for my own. A long scar is still drawn all over my leg, and it's now colored a red purplish color.
I turn around, and see– as I expected– the words 'unlovable' still written on my back. They look a lot less infected than they did in Texas, but the letters are still very much readable.
I change into a swimsuit, and now my stomach and back are covered with a piece of fabric.
I smile more satisfied this time, and put on my clothes over the bathing suit.
I fill a beach bag with shampoo, conditioner, a hairbrush, and I also pack a few towels and an old tshirt.
I have no idea how comfortable I'll be in this swimsuit, so I might as well pack a shirt so I can atleast cover myself if I would feel uncomfortable.
I hear a knock on my door, and stride over to the door, seeing Lucas standing in my doorway.
"Zina I'm so, so excited! I love the spa! Have you ever been to the spa? It's amazing!" He yaps and I chuckle. He really seems to love the spa.
"I've never been to a spa." I answer his earlier question.
"You haven't? You've been missing out for real!" He is still talking about a steam cabinet, as we descend down the stairs, where my brothers are awaiting us.
"Ready Zina?" Javi asks me.
I nod and we walk outside the house, into the underground garage, and they tell me I can pick out the car I'll be transported in.
I choose a navy BMW, just because of the color, and me, Lucas and Adrian get in, while Eleandro, Javi and Diego get in a boring black car.
On the road to the spa, me and Lucas sing our hearts out to teacher's pet by Melanie Martinez, a stunning singer with an even more stunning voice I've found out about recently and became obsessed with.
When we arrive, I let my eyes wander around the place. It's a nice and beautiful stone and wood cabinet, with fairy lights hanging everywhere, giving the place that extra cozy environment.
My mouth is still wide agape, when Lucas pulls at my arm, telling me to follow up.
We enter the cabinet, and I smell the scent of a musk incense, and the sound of a calming rhythm is audible.
Eleandro fixes everything with the woman behind the counter, and once we've got everything and she has explained the rules, she tells us to enter through the door in the back.
We enter, and my mouth opens once again in pure breathtakingness. The view is gorgeous, with the beautiful landscape and the sunset on display, and the whole place looks like a literal commercial.
I can spot a spacious sauna, with atleast 10 different wooden chairs in it, a 'steam cabinet' as Lucas has said earlier, which looks rather scary, and a jacuzzi with led lights and Bluetooth is also present.
Eleandro opens a door for me, and I step outside where there is a wide cold water bath, and some lounging chairs.
All my brothers look at me, and I smile my brightest smile possible at them.
"Looks good?" Adrian asks me, and I nod eagerly.
"And we've booked it for 3 hours!" Lucas shrieks excited.
I smile maybe even wider, and that smile renders as we all walk to a fitting room where we change into our swimsuits.
I look one last time in the mirror, and am displeased with the amount of skin now displayed in the swimsuit.
Some light bruises are present, the same goes for my scars on my wrists and legs, and I just don't like the look of my body. I wouldn't call myself fat, but I've seen way prettier bodies, and I suddenly feel self-conscious. Even though it's only my brothers who get to see my body, I still pull on the old tshirt I brought for this exact situation.
I open the door, and see my brothers have already left to the actual spa.
I walk to the spa on my flip-flops, and think back on how long ago it is that I've actually swum. At school there never really was an opportunity to swim, except for the swim test we had to do every 3 years, and in my free time, there never was a possibility to being able to swim on my own without displaying my body to others.
When I arrive at the spa, I see my brothers waiting on me eagerly, especially Lucas, and when they see me a smile appears on all of their faces.
"With what should we start?" Javi asks us, and Lucas immediately answers.
"The sauna, the sauna!" He yells excited.
"I asked Zina, Lucas." Javi scolds him.
I see Lucas's smile slightly faltering, so I quickly tell him the sauna is fine.
We all walk into the sauna, and I realize I'll have to take of my tshirt or I'll sweat right through it.
Apparently Diego can see the hesitation on my face, because he hands me a towel so I can still cover my body without getting my tshirt dirty.
I smile at him and enter the sauna with the towel over my body.
