yn felt her headphones slide off her head and quickly grabbed them.
"jesus, chill, it's just me," ryuji said, laughing at her reaction.
'just him' was not reliving as he had assumed. yn bit her cheek hard as she slowly removed and packed headphones back into her school bag, knowing she wouldn't be able to listen to music for the rest of her lunch break with ryuji next to her.
"where's your pretty smile?" he asked, sitting down.
thank goodness he didn't think of pinching her in the cheek, as he used to do from time to time, because she'd probably bite his hand off.
"i'm too tired for this today," she said before returning to eating her bun.
she barely slept last night because kenji's nose was bleeding, and he hated the sight of blood, so he panicked a lot, and yn had to promise him not to leave him for the night.
this morning, she had to argue with akari about her uniform's appearance. if she stepped into her school looking like she was wearing 'school girl' halloween costium, she'd end up in principal office and yn would have to deal with that.
also, she had a retake of the chemistry entrance exam this morning, which she most likely blew because even if she studied all weekend, it was probably in pointless.
"get an energy drink and you'll be fine," he shrugged, ignoring her problem.
ryuji never took anything seriously, which was one of the things yn liked about him at the start of their 'friendship'. it gradually stopped being cool and began to irritate, even hurt, because he was the only person she could consider a friend.
at the start of high school, she fell into the wrong crowd, she enjoyed how people were afraid of her, it was a nice change from home, where everything was on her head, because here no one dared to even look at her.
with time yn changed her attitude, but the reputation remained, which was tiring.
she wasn't even mean to people (without reason) anymore. she wasn't going out of her way to make others fear her. she was just living and surviving every day, and no matter what she did, people were assuming she was evil.
everything was so tiring.
"fuck you," yn huffed, gathering her belongings to eat somewhere else.
"the fuck did i do?" ryuji asked, clearly unsure of what he had done wrong.
but yn was not in the mood to teach him about social clues.
"yn!" she heard as she was about to leave the cafeteria. she sighed and turned around with a more neutral expression on her face, yuuto had done nothing to make her angry.
"yeah?" she asked, stepping closer to the table where yuuto sat with his teammates.
yn felt relieved that he had made friends and had people to spend time with at school. even if the friends in question appeared to be nervous about her presence next to them.
