"what's the count?" yamamoto asked, glancing over kuroo's arm to see his phone screen. as if on cue, his phone vibrated again.

"three," he said, showing the number of texts with various versions of 'good luck' from different girls. "god, put some clothes on," he huffed, moving away from yamamoto, who did not hesitate to approach him and ask this while he was changing into his volleyball uniform.

"woah, that's a downgrade," kai chuckled, shaking his head in disbelief.

"it's because he hangs out with yn now," yaku teased him, purposefully using yn's given name rather than her surname, like he would when speaking with anyone else.

"i'm not late, right?" yuuto asked, clearly panicked, as he dashed into the changing room as the last member of the team.

"no, we still have some time," kuroo replied, waving his hand.

"i know you said to be earlier, but-"

"hey, it's fine, don't worry about it," kuroo interrupted before yuuto could panic more. he wasn't even late, and it was great to see how much he cared about his first official game, so he didn't need to explain himself. "four," he said, picking up his phone as it vibrated again. yaku was just imagining things. not that he cared how many girls wished him luck before the game, it was more about not letting his friends make things between him and yn weird. they were just becoming friends, so there was no reason to treat it as anything more. "you know that number?" he asked, showing his teammates a new message from a number he had not saved.

as a gossip and social butterfly, yaku probably had over 200 saved phone numbers and was more useful than a phone book. he written a number into his phone, but nothing came up.

"hey, yuu, what's yn's phone number?" yaku asked, snatching the phone from kuroo's grasp.

of course, yaku wouldn't let it go so easily. he made fun of kuroo since the day he found out he gave yn his phone number, which she hadn't used yet.

yuuto recited the phone number without hesitation, and yaku's smile widened with each digit.

"no way," yamamoto gasped, leaving yuuto confused over why his sister's phone number was so exciting.

"don't be embarrassing," kenma said, as kuroo's face began to warm. what was going on in front of his eyes got more interesting than his phone now.

"stop," kuroo huffed, snatching his phone from yaku's grasp.

so what if yn wished him a good game? it was simply a nice gesture from friend to friend.

"if you're trying to play it cool, stop smiling," kai said quietly, leaning to kuroo, who immediately put his hand over his lips, causing his friends to laugh at him.

"no way," they heard yuuto say in disbelief as he finally connected the dots in his head.

kuroo didn't have the courage to ask, whether it was good or bad, 'no way'.
