kuroo flexed his wrist, tired of writing. it was the start of the new school year, and he wasn't used to writing so much, as he usually did after breaks.
"obviously not," he heard from the girl who sat at the desk in front of him.
"yeah, i wouldn't do that too," the other girl told her, and kuroo got curious. he wasn't particularly interested in gossip, but he did enjoy learning new things. things that did not matter at all. okay, maybe he was into gossip. "first of all, if she's failing, she's dumb and it's not your problem, second of all, she's weird, i would be scared to stay alone with her for a second," she huffed out, lowering her voice, when the teacher stopped talking.
"right? god knows what she'd do to me," said the girl in front of him, nodding furiously. "i mean, she isn't failing yet, but mrs. shizuku said she blew the entrance test and she's 'scared for her to fail'," she added, mocking their chemistry teacher.
kuroo was especially curious now, because why would his favorite teacher ask someone other than himself to help someone with chemistry? he aced the entrance exam and has been the best in his class since first year. that hurt. damn you, need academic validation.
"every teacher cares so much about her, it makes me want to puke. i don't know, do they not see that she's just a deliquent? she's rude, mean, and always angry; why do they like her so much? she doesn't even have to join any clubs, god knows why."
there it was. key to the mystery. only one girl in school could be described this way. of course, there were more deliquents at school than her, but the phrase 'rude, mean, and always angry' was always used when talking about ln.
he never felt it on his skin, but he had heard a lot about the way she was. that was the part he could agree on, she was unpleasant to be around, but he never understood why people called her a deliquent. she was friends with some of them, including one who kuroo tried to avoid at all costs because he was scary and only meant trouble, but he never saw her doing anything off or illegal. he actually never saw her outside of school.
"i thought it would never end, oh my god, do they ever stop yapping?" yaku groaned, leaning on the desk next to kuroo to wait for him while he packed his stuff after class.
"you sit on the other end of the classroom, because you were yapping to me that much," kuroo chuckled, hanging his bag on his shoulder.
"i have a lot of important things to say."
"for sure, you do."
"what would you do if you had to tutor ln?" kuroo laughed at yaku for how easily he indulged in newly learned gossip after complaining about hearing it.
"i would probably tutor her if i had the time. in some public space, though," kuroo said, trying to catch kenma in the hallway, but his head was nowhere to be seen.
