I changed Ranpo's age here. So don't question it lol! 

I originally wrote this chapter in Ranpo's birthday, but I didn't publish it, because I wanted to take a break from writing. I hope you understand it...

It was Ranpo's 24th birthday and Edgar was determined to make it one to remember.

Edgar had been planning for weeks and the day was finally here. Today was Ranpo's birthday and he had a big surprise in store.

He had arranged everything himself, down to the last detail. He had managed to arrange for an afternoon at a secluded beach where the two of them could spend time together and enjoy one another's company.

He had brought out some beach chairs, a cooler filled with sandwiches and drinks and even a little portable radio to play some music.

He had also gathered up some gifts which ha had been collecting for some time that he thought his sweetie would love.

When Ranpo arrived, Edgar could barely contain his excitement. He had his bag of his surprises all ready and was dressed up for the occasion too.

"Happy birthday Ranpo." He said with a smile.

Ranpo smiled back joyfully. "Thank you! What did you bring me?"

Edgar chuckled lightly. "It's a surprise. First we need to go to beach."

Ranpo nodded his head. "Okay."

As soon as they stepped onto the sand, they both felt deeply at ease like they were finally able to relax and be themselves. Everything around them seemed perfect. The sound of the waves crashing, the smell of the salty ocean breeze and the warmth of the sun on their faces. They both ate their snacks and drank their drinks.

As they both stood together on the shore, they realized that this was a moment they would never forget.

This special day continued as they walked hand in hand together along the beach, taking in the scenery around them. They talked excitedly about their future and the possibilities that lay before them both. When they stopped to watch the sunset, they clasped hands and kissed tenderly, knowing that even if everything was not perfect right now, it would be one day.

The sun eventually set and as they walked away together, Ranpo turned to Edgar and spoke. "One year ago today, I never could have imagined my life would look like this, but now, here we are and I'm so glad we are together."

Edgar smiled and he replied with a heart full of love. "Me too."

However Edgar had another surprise for Ranpo, with the help of Chuuya and Dazai of course, it all began when they stepped through the door of their shared home and, instead of seeing their familiar home, Ranpo felt like he was transported to a romantic scene.
