That night, Akutagawa knocked on Atsushi's door, carrying their favorite snacks and bottle of wine. His heart was pounding loudly in excitement.

This was the night he had been planning for weeks, ever since he had picked out the perfect ring for Atsushi. He couldn't wait to see the look on his lover's face when he proposed.

Atsushi opened the door with a bright smile, his eyes widening in surprise at the sight of Akutagawa. He could tell something was different about him tonight, the ways his eyes sparkled and there was a nervous energy radiating from him. His heart started to race, wondering what was going on.

As they sat down on the couch, Akutagawa couldn't wait any longer. He took a deep breath and began to speak. "Atsushi, you know I love you more than anything in this world. You have brought so much light and joy into my life. And I can't imagine living without you."

Atsushi's heart swelled with love as he listened to Akutagawa's words. Every word he spoke was filled with so much emotion and sincerity. He couldn't believe that he was lucky enough to have this man in his life.

"I know we have been together for 2 years now and it has been the best two years of my life with you. So, Atsushi Nakajima, will you do me the honor of being my husband?" Akutagawa finally said, pulling out a small velvet box from his pocket and opening it to reveal a gorgeous diamond ring.

Atsushi's eyes filled with tears as he realized what was happening. He never thought he would find someone who loved him this much, someone who wanted to spend forever with him. Without hesitation, he threw his arms around Akutagawa and said "Yes, yes, a million times yes!"

They held each other tightly, both of them overcome with emotion. This was a moment they would remember forever.

As they sat on the couch, enjoying their snacks and wine, they talked about their future together. They couldn't wait to start planning their wedding and building a life together.

However, life was like a box of chocolate. You would never know what you were going to bite into any day. Or like a rose garden. Through the beauty it had thorns.

And today was one of those days where Akutagawa's borderline personality disorder would flare up. Atsushi knew that Akutagawa had this condition and he had learned to understand and support him through the highs and lows. He knew that days like these were tough for Akutagawa, but he also knew that with love and patience, they could get through it together.

As they continued to talk, Akutagawa started to dissociate. Atsushi could see it in his eyes, the distant look that appeared as if he was looking through him.

"Akutagawa, are you alright?" Atsushi asked with concern in his voice.

"Yes, I'm fine," Akutagawa replied, but his voice sounded distant and robotic.

Atsushi knew better than to push him when he was in this state, so he continued the conversation, trying to keep things light and calm. But as their evening went on, Akutagawa's dissociation only seemed to get worse. The conversation became harder and harder to keep going as Akutagawa's responses became shorter and more distant.
