Little! Jeongin
Triggers/Warnings: Littlespace (for a lot of people ig)
genre: littlespace, fluff, first-outing, non idol AU

----------------------------------------------

Eight boys, three couples, seven caregivers and one who claimed to be 'neutral', all under one roof. This coping mechanism is simple, there is the so-called Little, a person who mentally falls into the age of a baby, toddler or teenager and behaves accordingly in order to escape the days of adult life. Then there are so-called Caregivers, caregivers, who are something like parents to explain it more simply.

These are the people who look after the little one, give him food, play with him and all the things a parent would do. Then there is the neutral, the neutral is a person who has neither the little instincts nor those of a caregiver. But that person can still look after a Little, because it's actually like babysitting for that person.

For several weeks now, the same conversation has been going on over and over again between the seven caregivers. It was about what it would be like if one of them were a little, how they would spoil said person depending on their age, but afterwards they agreed that it didn't matter what their little's mental age was, they would anyway pampering said one and all that. The so-called neutral person, Jeongin to be precise, wanted to start crying right then and there.

The eight have been living together for exactly three years now and for exactly three years, the seven think Jeongin is a 'neutral' in this whole scheme, but he is a... little, exactly what the seven of them have wanted all along, but he can't manage to tell them that he's not a neutral like they thought and Jeongin stated. It was fear when all the attention was on him when the classifications were published. In the whole three years that he spent with his now best friends, he hardly had the opportunity to live out this headspace and you noticed more and more that something was wrong.

The headaches that won't go away, the constant being stuck in thoughts and no longer noticing anything around you. These were clear signs and Jeongin knew this, he knew that suppressing it was harming him, but he did it anyway and the others believed every single excuse, not knowing that he was harming himself mentally. Well, but every lie comes to light at some point, right? So did Jeongin's.

---------------------------------------

It was a Wednesday when it happened, Jeongin woke up feeling miserable, worse than the weeks and months before. He was sitting in his classroom as normal when he suddenly didn't know where he was anymore. With big googly eyes he looked around the room he was sitting in as tears slowly began to form in his eyes. He didn't even know all the people who were in the room with him, nor did he understand what the person at the front of the room was actually saying. However, he wondered where his hyungies are, why aren't they here with him?

And then the tears rolled down, he tried to be quiet because all the people around him looked concentrated and he didn't want to disturb them. His seat mate, Kim, noticed something was wrong and brought it to the teacher's attention. She stood up and walked towards the middle-aged lady. "Ms. Shing, there's something wrong with Jeongin.. apart from the fact that he slipped, he seemed confused and all that.." The woman looked at the actually confused boy, who was crying silently in his seat and moving every now and then looked, with the still same confused expression. "Thanks Kim, I'll take care of him.." she said and then the girl walked back to her seat. The teacher gave all the students tasks and so she slowly walked towards Jeongin.

She slowly packed up his things and then knelt down to the little's eye level, not knowing how old Jeongin is at the moment. "Hey buddy.. Are you okay?" She asked, Jeongin looked at her and shook his head while whispering "nwo 'tay.." - "Ohh... How old are you sweetie, huh?" Jeongin held up one of his fingers as he looked at the woman in front of him as if he was going to completely burst into tears at any moment. "Can I hold you and take you to your caregivers or hyungies? You must be very confused and overwhelmed by it all... it's a lot for someone so tiny, huh?" Jeongin nodded and then the dam broke.

He completely burst into tears, Ms. Shing picked up the little one and left the classroom with his backpack, Jeongin's classmates watched worriedly. When she arrived at the office, she asked who Jeongin was with or whether there were any emergency contact details that could be provided. The baby itself continued to cry in the arms of the woman he still didn't know. Minutes later, seven out of breath and worried boys stormed into the office where they actually found Jeongin, crying and whimpering in the arms of his class teacher. Totally disoriented and scared of what was actually going on, he clung to the woman not knowing what else to do. Now too deep in his headspace to be able to form words and sentences in general.

"What happened?" Chan asked, the first to find his voice to speak. "He slipped into his headspace in class... sat in his chair totally confused and scared, trying to understand what was going on, but he was too small to understand anything. When I talked to him, he told me he was a year old, he's probably in baby space now because he just whines and whimpers but doesn't say a word anymore. He also seems to have a fever, his temperature is only slightly elevated, but it can still rise over the course of the day.. take him home, let him rest, let him get into his headspace and then let him go back to school." She explained, passing the baby to the boys in front of her. The seven looked at each other confused and then at Innie in Minho's arms, head on the caregiver's shoulder and now sleeping calmly while his thumb found its way into his mouth. Seungmin, who had a pacifier in his backpack for emergency reasons, took it out and swapped it for their newfound baby's thumb, which was met with whining and whimpering from Innie in return.

It was clear to the seven of them that they had to take care of the sick baby first, keep him in his headspace as long as possible and then talk to Jeongin when he was big again to find out why he didn't tell them anything.

Why he lied and said he was a neutral.
