[...] Jeongin and the others must also work and that way we can at least look after you, do you understand?" Said Mr. Chang and Chan's eyes lit up, without thinking he nodded and the seven grinned to themselves too. 

one year later

It's been a year now since Chan moved in with Jeongin. The two of them understood each other without words, which the others noticed too, as it often happened that the two of them looked at each other and minutes later they were both giggling, even though nobody said anything. Chan worked full-time with Seunghee in the café and he had never had as much fun doing anything as he had in that year. Minho, Hyunjin, Jisung, Felix, Seungmin, Changbin and Jeongin naturally noticed how happy Chan seemed now, how relieved he was. His nightmares became less and less, until he no longer had any, but if you make progress, you can easily fall back, right? 

But not for Chan. Thanks to Mr. Chang, Seunghee and the other seven boys, Chan had built himself up to the point where he stood up to Chulsung when the latter thought he had to put on a show. "Chulsung, that's enough! Leave me alone and take your dirty hands off me!! You've been hurting me long enough, that's enough! Go fuck your way through the next best club, but leave me the fuck alone!!!" And so he walked away from his ex-boyfriend and served the customers as if nothing had happened. Chulsung left with a scoff, Chan turned around slightly and then grinned. Minutes later Seunghee came up to him and hugged him. 

"I'm so proud of you!" He said and so he pulled away and went back to work himself. The whole time Chan had this proud grin on his face that no one could take off his face, even Jeongin and the others were a bit confused as to why Chan was grinning like that until Seunghee told them what had happened. The seven looked at each other, grinned and waited until Chan noticed that they were even there, having finished work early to surprise Chan. They sat there for a while and watched Chan as he chatted with the customers or talked to Seunghee, who didn't say a word to him until he walked past them to clear the table behind them. 

He stopped abruptly and walked backwards, looking at the seven with a shocked look. "What... what are you doing here? Don't you still have to work?" he asked, slightly overwhelmed, but the seven shook their heads and grinned at Chan. "We finished work early and thought we'd surprise you... and we also heard what happened today, and we're so proud of you, Chan!" Changbin said, and the others agreed. Tears were gathering in his eyes, and Jeongin, Felix, and Jisung were already standing up and hugging him. "Why... why is everyone telling me how proud they are of me today? I don't understand..." he said with a trembling voice. 

"Chan... does there have to be a reason for everything? I mean, yes, there is a reason why we are all saying this today, after all, you stood up to a person who has been hurting you for four years... of course we are proud of you!" Minho said and looked at Chan with a smile. He calmed down again, took their orders and then cleared the table that he had wanted to clear earlier. When he had done that, he prepared the drinks and desserts for the seven of them, then brought them to them and chatted with them until he had to go and serve the other customers again.

When he finally finished work, they walked home together to Jeongin's and now Chan's home. What nobody knew, of course, was that Chan and Jeongin both felt more than just friendship for each other, but said nothing because they assumed that the other did not like him too. Yes, the two talked a lot and behaved like a couple, but they weren't one, but their friends didn't know that and thought they were, which is why they said it out loud when they were sitting in Jeongin's living room. "You are a cute couple." Jisung said and grinned at the two, but the two looked at each other in shock, then at Jisung and only then did the others seem to understand what was probably going on. 

"Are you a couple?" Seungmin asked and both gave an answer, but each a different one. While Chan said no, Jeongin said yes. The two looked at each other again, more or less Chan to Jeongin. He sighed and turned his attention to the older one. "Chan..." He said, and Chan just stared at him until he turned to the others and without reacting to Jeongin said "Yes, yes, we are together, just now!" and then looked at Jeongin and kissed him. Now it was the others who sat there in shock, but seconds later they recovered and congratulated the new couple and of course the two had to explain themselves, because it was very confusing. 

And while the two were talking, it became clear to them that they were both in love with each other, but not capable were to open their mouths and say it out loud. When they had finished, the two looked at each other and started laughing. Minutes later, the others joined in, and they spent a few more hours together until they went home again, leaving Jeongin and Chan alone. When the two were in bed, Chan poured out his heart. All the unsaid things, the thoughts and much more, he told his boyfriend, who tightened his arms around his boyfriend's body after each sentence. And when he couldn't take it anymore, he connected their lips and looked into his boyfriend's with watery eyes. 

"Please stop talking like that.. you don't deserve to be treated like that guy did.. nobody deserves to be treated like that, nobody. But you're not with him anymore, you're with me now, you have a steady job and you can do whatever you want, except cheating on me, that's for sure! But you're not locked up like you were with him, baby, you're your own person, he treated you like you were a product that would be taken away from him if he didn't lock you up.. 

..but that's exactly what you're not, you're a human being like him and me.. I love you and I hope you feel comfortable with me and not like you're locked up or something like that. If you do, then be honest and we can find a solution together, okay? Please talk if something bothers you and don't bottle it up.." He said, Chan just looked at Jeongin until he hugged him and mumbled a simple "Thank you.." And just like that, the two fell asleep arm in arm. 

A few years passed and the two still loved each other as much as before, while things got a bit tense between the other couples because they all fell in love with someone else in the group, so it was no longer Minsung, Hyunlix and Seungbin, but Hyunho, Changlix and Seungsung. Nevertheless, everyone was friends with everyone else, the six sorted it out among themselves and are now all happy in their relationships again.
