"Harmony wake up!" I heard my mother call from the kitchen, and I groaned and rolled over. When I opened my eyes, my sheets and blankets were a mess and on the floor.
My mom finally opened the door to my room, and I glared at her as she shook her head in disapproval.
"It's past noon Harmony. How long are you going to sleep in? I bet your father has been waiting for a while now." She sighed and walked over and poked me on the cheek.
"I don't want to do stupid training.." I grumbled and turned my back to her as I closed my eyes.
"Oh come on! His lessons aren't that boring." She winked playfully, and dragged me out of bed.
At the table in the dining room, awaited eggs and ham on a plate for me. I hungrily ate it all in record time, before I hicupped loudly, and walked outside. Only to have a kunai go whizzing past my face, and hit the door I was just closing. I whirled around to see my father standing there, holding a couple kunai in his hands, and sporting a frown upon his face.
"We were meant to start training half a hour ago, Harmony." He said sternly, and I rolled my eyes.
"Sorry, came back late last night." I excused myself.
"Which reminds me. Care to explain why you were on rebel's territory?" He demanded, and I choked silently.
"He's not supposed to know that!"
"Umm I guess I got lost, and forgot where our territory cuts off I guess." I lied. Really, I hate feeling confined in an area. I feel that I have to explore everywhere!
He scoffed, but tossed me a wooden sword. I caught it from the hilt, and stared at it for a couple moments.
"Let's go then." He grumbled. He knew I was lying, but it's not like he could do much anyway.
We walked out of the village, and into the forest.
"Ah, beautiful day isn't it?" My father asked, and I nodded silently. Leave it to dad to state the obvious sometimes.
"Well then, let's just practice reaction time." Not a second later, I was on the ground, trying to regain my loss breath after a light poke in the gut from the hilt of my father's sword. I glared up at him, and tried kicking at his feet. He didn't budge much.
"Don't you remember our lessons, Harmony?" He asked as he stepped away.
"I know dad. You're much heavier than me so strength isn't my key in this." I grumbled, realizing my error quickly.
He grinned, and I barely had the time to dodge as his wooden sword came down right towards my head.
I narrowed my eyes at him as I leaped to my feet. That's right. My father is much stronger than me, and possibly stronger than any other person in the village. My mother is an exception though. She could probably best him.
I ducked forward, and kept low as I used speed to my advantage. He saw me coming though, and swiped low at me. I dodged to a side and once I got behind his back, I sliced at his armor. Which he rarely ever removed.
I landed a little further away, and he smiled.
"Good job, Harmony." He said to me. I smiled back and tried to say something, but couldn't when I was suddenly shoved over, and had the wooden sword aimed at my throat.
"You can't ever turn your attention away from an enemy." He sighed, and let me up.
We continued to practice, until we took a small break. He handed me an apple.
"So we're going to a grand ball at the human kingdom tonight." He started, and I groaned loudly. He gave a small warning look.
"It doesn't mean you have to enjoy it. I just want you there so you look responsible. You're going to be the queen for the Catori one day, so I need you to start acting like your ready for it anyday." He explained, and I resisted the urge to roll my eyes. He smacked me lightly on the head.
"Ow!" I snapped at him, and he shook his head in disapproval.
"Which means you stop living in this rebellious stage, and grow up." He said, but almost instantly his eyes softened.
"Listen. This world has become a lot calmer since the war. But there's still the after effects. Please act mature at the ball tonight. It's the least you could do for me." He asked politely, and I leaned my head back and sighed.
"Fine."
----
It was getting late, and the ball was soon. We were getting onto our horses, and I glances over at my parents. My father was complaining about wearing a suit because he never needed to before. While my mother wore a gorgeous green dress.
I glanced down at myself. I had a short purple dress on that had a triangle cut, but was smooth everywhere.
"Let's go." My mother announced when we were ready.
We all broke into a gallop, and we got to the kingdom in about twenty minutes. When we got there, we saw people dancing around slowly and calmly. I took a look at the buffet table, and my stomach growled. But my mom stopped me for a moment when a man with black hair, and vivid green eyes walked over.
"Lucas, Aiyana! It's been far too long since I've seen you two!" He greeted, and Lucas and Aiyana hugged him.
"You too Dodger." Aiyana greeted back with a wide smile. Dodger's look went from my parents to me next.
If it was even possible, his gaze brightened.
"I see you have a child now too! That's amazing. Congratulations." He said, patting me on the head.
"I understand you have two children?" My father asked nicely, and Dodger grinned and nodded.
He turned away to call for them in the crowd.
Soon, a lookalike of Dodger, but younger of course, appeared in front of us. He smiled at all of us, but his gaze lingered on mine for a little longer before he looked back at Dodger.
"Yes father?" He asked, and Dodger put a hand on his shoulder.
"Meet the king, the queen, and the princess of the Catori." Dodger said to him, and immediately Colt bowed.
"It's a pleasure meeting you all." He said sincerely.
I gave him my best smile I could, but I think he could tell I wasn't enjoying myself.
He turned away, and walked back into the crowd when a girl called for him. My mother and father soon were talking to people, and drinking champagne. While I was
left, helplessly standing there.
