I sat in my chair, and tapped the pencil against my lips.

"You're boring." Spruce groaned as he walked in. I shot a glare over my shoulder at him, as I tried to block him out and think.

"You're just like father. You don't understand 'knocking before entering.'" I sniffed as I massaged my shoulder with my hand, and groaned and slammed the pencil down on the table.

"How'd it go with Kaliska?" Spruce asked as he spun my chair around to make me face him, and grinned at me.

I rose an eyebrow, and stayed silent.

"Oh god please don't tell me you messed it up!" He cried as he shook me slightly.

"What's that supposed to mean!?" I shouted, and he rolled his eyes.

"Remember your ex? She dumped you because you weren't.. what's the word? Well into the relationship."

"I was too young to date! It was her fault that she asked an eleven year old out." I snapped, but felt my heart pinch slightly when I remembered her.

"No not her. She got killed remember?"

I flinched when I realized what he was trying to get at.

"Oh.. Her. Yeah, she wasn't into me anyway." I said as I turned my chair back around and looked at my drawings.

"Oh c'mon. She was.. Just she was also into another guy at the same-" I slammed my hands violently down on the desk, and silenced him.

"Shut up and get out!" I shouted angrily. Spruce flinched when he realized his error, and walked out without another word.

I stood, and ran a hand through my hair.

"I'm really bad at these relationships.." I sighed, and rubbed my arms.

"Colt?" A voice came from the other side of the door, and I opened it slowly to see the maid.

"Ah yes.. Sorry." I said as I stepped aside for her to start cleaning.

I watched her, before I grabbed my drawings, my bow and quiver and walked to the black smith.

When I gave the drawings to the man, he grinned and got to work immediately. I leaned against a table, and stared at my feet.

"I don't deserve Kaliska.. She needs somebody that can contribute to the relationship.. I'm not good with these things.." I huffed quietly, and a hand rested on my shoulder, and I jumped to see my father looking at me.

"Colt I've been trying to get your attention for a minute now." He said impatiently, and I blushed in embarrassment.

"Ah uh.. Sorry." I said as I straightened myself, and cleared my throat.

"What would you like?" I asked, and he handed the arrows that were just made, and a beautiful sheath holding a sword.

"You're not really a swordsman. You've already got a sword too.. Who is this for?" He asked, and I frowned.

"Nobody. That wasn't supposed to be made yet.." I explain, and realized I must've handed a drawing that I wasn't supposed to.

"Well how about you give it to a soldier then." He said, and handed it to me.

I could feel the magical power come from the handle by just holding it, and I grinned.

"I should give this to Kaliska!" I said, and began to run to the stable, but then I paused when I finished putting my new arrows away.

"Or.. This sword could be Spruce's.. It would do well for an apology gift.. Arg!" I grip my head as I could feel an incoming headache, and I kick the dirt in frustration.
