I followed the Princess, and found everything about this suspicious. So suspicious, it was making my skin crawl. I noticed that we had crossed into the renegade territory, and she didn't even seem fazed about it. That, and we're doing this at a very late hour. I wanted to speak my mind, when I noticed that she was looking at something. I looked over her shoulder and noticed a map, and my eyes widened.
"Princess what'e going on?" I demanded at last, when I couldn't take anymore of this. She turned to me with a smile that was obviously forced and strained.
"Nothing Colt. Let's keep going." She said, and my eyes narrowed.
"Are you sure?" I asked. I could see the regret in her eyes.
"Yes!" She snapped, and led us along quicker, grabbing my hand so I kept up with her. I flinched, and grabbed at my head when I could feel the start of a migraine.
"Colt!" A voice called, soon accompanied by the sound of hooves. We turned around to see my brother riding towards us.
He jumped off, and ran over to us.
"Colt you shouldn't be leaving the castle anymore without telling anyone! Besides, your head has gone through enough damage already!" My brother scolded, and I felt a burning anger in my stomach.
"Stop following me around and trying to boss me around! I'm old enough to handle things alone!" I shouted at Spruce, and now I was the one pulling Kaliska along. I just wanted to get away from my brother.
"No, Colt we're going home." Spruce said, and I felt him pick me up and put me over his shoulder. I immediately kicked at him, and growled.
"Spruce let me go immediately."
Spruce was just laughing though as he was carrying me.
"Wow you're still small enough and light enough for me to carry you like this!" He said as he walked over to the horse. But suddenly, Spruce jumped backwards, and growled.
He let me down, but took up a defensive position as a couple people jumped down from the trees overhead.
"It's them." One of the people hissed, and they stalked towards us.
"Good job Kaliska, you're mission was successful." A velvety voice spoke from behind us, but I soon found myself sprawled on the ground, gripping my head as someone bashed it with something.
"Colt!" I heard Kaliska cry, but I could feel nothing but betrayal.
I slowly looked over at Spruce to see he was being treated the same. I tried to reach forward to him, but I fell into the familiar darkness..
---
"Colt.. Colt wake up!" I felt hands on me, and I jolted awake to see Spruce sitting there. He was bleeding from what looked like a cut on his forehead, and had a couple bruises.
"Hey brother." I spoke weakly as I leaned against him for a moment, before I stood up. Only to nearly fall back down. Luckily, Spruce caught me before I hit the ground and helped me back up.
"Where are we?' I whimpered as I looked around. Rusted walls that barely look like they can stand anymore, chains on the wall, and bars that signaled, it's a cell. There was also a suspicious dripping in the corner.
"Cassidy told me that they found this building a couple weeks ago and decided to bring us here. Why they did, I don't know." He said to me grimly, and I put my hands against the bars, and looked out between them. There was a dim light coming from the other side of the room. I narrowed my eyes and let my vision adjust to the darkness. I made out a dark door, and the light was coming from the crack.
I sighed, and leaned my forehead against the bar, and felt the coldness come from it.
"Crap, we're screwed." I said, and looked back at my brother.
He was about to say something, when we heard the door open. The girl with curly hair walked in, and smirked at us.
"Ah, we're all awake now. Good! I hope you're both enjoying yourselves."
"What do you want?!" I spat with vevom as I reached through the bars, and tried to grab at her, but it was hopeless. She moved back so I couldn't touch her. Was this the woman that tortured and made Harmony lose an eye?! Dark hatred that I wasn't familiar with filled my bones as I had an overwhelming urge to strangle her with my bare hands.
She grinned darkly, and showed us two perfect rows of teeth.
"Let's play, shall we?"
