Chapter 18: Kaliska

I stared at my bleeding arm, groaning as I watched the blood ooze out of it. What made it worse was that there was nothing I could do. Someone opened the door, and I looked up to see an innocent looking girl with dark brown hair and green eyes. There was a large blue bow in her hair, and she was dressed in a maid uniform. The girl walked toward me, bandages in hand.

"Why are you doing this?" I asked her, as she wrapped the bandaged around my arm, stopping the bleeding.

"Cassidy requested it." The girl said, with fear in her voice. "I'm so sorry Princess Kaliska, I really am." Tears began to stream down the girl's face.

"It's alright." I gave her a kind smile, "what's your name?"

"Alice." She replied,

"Well Alice, would you be able to write something for me?"

"I don't think I should." She breathed, sounding terrified,

"Trust me, nothing will happen to you. Please do this for me." Alice nodded, and brought out a paper and pen.

"Tell Colt that he cannot save me, since I don't want him put in any danger. And tell him to stay far aware from Cassidy, and finally, that I've fallen for him." The brown haired girl finished writing and sealed the paper into an envelope.

"I'll bring it back to the Kingdom." She said, a new bravery in her voice.

"Be careful sweetheart. And stay at the castle, don't come back here." The girl left, and I felt alone once again. My mind started to drift to thinking about Colt, and I wished I could talk to him one last time.

"Hello, Princess Kaliska." Cassidy entered the room about an hour later, her typical knife in hand. "Now, I want you to be a good girl." She approached me, and sliced her knife down my non-injured arm, and grabbed a small bottle, collecting the blood in it.

"What is that for?" I asked growling,

"I want to figure out a way to get rid of the Catori." She grinned, "and you, my dear, are my test subject." Her grin grew even more, and I shuddered. Cassidy stepped toward me, and went behind me, placing her knife on my tail.

"Stop, please..." I breathed, feeling the pain start sinking in, as the woman pushed down the knife. "Stop!" I screamed at her, and Cassidy finally let go. My tail was thankfully still there, except it had a small cut in it.

"Now, what next." She clasped her hands together, and thought. The girl giggled, and began to make small cuts all over my arms and legs. I hissed in pain, baring my teeth, as I tried to subside the pain, and ignore it. "Well then, I guess I should figure out how to kill your race." The woman yawned, and left the room.

I clenched my tied hands when she left, and struggled against the ropes that held me. Once I got free, I was seriously going to murder this woman. Something this sick and twisted honestly didn't deserve life.

"Ah, Princess Kaliska." A black haired man entered the room. The strangest thing, was that he had black cat ears and a tail. He walked toward me, grinning as he examined me,

"You look just as beautiful as you're mother." He laughed, a dark look in his eyes. The guy walked toward me, and drew a slit across my stomach. I tried my best to stay strong, squeezing my eyes shut as the pain came. "That's all I, going to do. I'm defiantly not as sick as Cassidy." He chuckled, and paced around me,

"Who are you." I demanded an answer,

"Let's just say I was someone your mother used to love. But know, I feel nothing for that pathetic woman."

"Shut up. My mother is a great person." I slammed against my ropes, feeling my anger rise.

"Feisty one, aren't you? Just like your mother." He smirked, and walked to the door,

"Why doesn't she know about me?" The man froze at my words, and turned around,

"I guess I'll let you know the answer, since you might be dead soon." The guy took a breath, and continued,

"when you're mother was eighteen, she was to be married to the Prince. On a night of a ball, the two met each other, and the next day, Aiyana discovered she was pregnant. The healers told her it was a baby girl. Aiyana gave birth to the daughter only two months after, and when she did, there wasn't one girl, but two." The man took another breath,

"When the two were born, you're father had realized that she was in love with Lucas, and that she didn't want the girls. So, he snuck into the house while she was alone and resting, and he gave her a potion that made her forget everything that had just happened. Your father took you with him, leaving the other girl with Aiyana, since the woman still would have a memory of having a daughter." The man explained the rest of the story, and then left the room, leaving me to think.

I couldn't believe it. All this time, my father knew, and yet, he never told me I was Aiyana's daughter. And at some point, I had a twin. It was all hard to take in, and I found myself wanting to tell my mother about me. My eyes began to close, as I thought about telling my mother, and that I might finally have a mother, if I survived of course. Soon, I was fast asleep.

"Wake up!" Cassidy's voice woke me up immediately, and I looked to see the blonde haired girl with a small bottle of red liquid in her hands.

I squirmed against the chains, as the woman approached me, and opened the jar. She walked toward me, and opened my mouth, pouring the liquid into my mouth. I tried to spit it out, but Cassidy turned up my head, forcing me to swallow.

She then turned away, and sat down on a chair nearby, watching me intensively. The first thing to happen was that I felt extremely weak. My whole body ached, and I found it going limp from the pain. Cassidy cackled, and walked toward me, cutting the ropes above my head. At first, I thought I might be able to fight her, but I collapsed to the ground.

I was suddenly transformed into my leopard form, and I cried out, as the pain was even unbearable in this form. Then, I was turned into a house cat, and I hissed in pain.

"Ouch, sorry." The blonde haired woman giggled, and I glared at her with all the strength I had left. I finally turned back into my normal form, and tried to crawl across the ground, but no, I was so weak that I couldn't even move. What had she done to me?
