My sword forward in a defence to strike, I glared at the broken walls around me, while I stood with my father. The dust around us suddenly cleared, and I looked to see that whatever had attacked us was gone. Staring in shock, I ran to a open window, and stared out, seeing people getting onto their horses below. My eyes caught sight of familiar blonde hair, and a red dress, and I instantly knew who it was. Princess Kaliska.

I rushed down the staircases, my sword held at my side as I darted toward the entrance of the castle. As I bolted out, I realized my brother was already after the people who had kidnapped Kaliska. I leaped onto my own palomino horse, and kicked him into a gallop, and we raced after the kidnappers.

Colt glared at me as I came up beside him,

"I can handle this on my own thanks!" He hissed, and made his horse speed up. I sighed, and kicked my horse into a faster gallop,

"You're not doing this alone brother." I said,

"What? Because I'm weak?"

"No Colt. I don't want you to get hurt, you're my brother, and I care about you. Besides, now isn't the time. We need to rescue Kaliska." Colt sighed, and we continued on, not saying a word to each other.

"So, what do you think of Kaliska?" I asked my brother,

"I-uh...she's nice." He replied, and I grinned,

"Does my brother have a crush?"

"No! Shut up Spruce." He glared, and I laughed,

"I wouldn't be surprised if you did though, honestly. She's quite the beauty." I heard Colt grumble to himself, and I snickered.

---

We finally came to an end when the kidnappers disappeared into the forest. Beside me, Colt was cursing like a mad men, and I growled to myself, angry that I had failed to rescue her.

"Wonder why they captured her." Colt snarled, clutching his fists,

"I don't know. She is the princess though, that explains a lot."

"But who would attack us?" I shrugged, and blinked when I saw a flash of red.

"Hold up." I placed my hand on my brother's horse, and watched as someone emerged from the forest. Kaliska appeared, her long blonde hair flowing in the wind, and the moonlight shining onto her. The girl's dress was ripped in multiple places, and blood stained her body. In her left hand was a large knife. Words couldn't even describe how hot she looked. The rumour I had heard about guys falling head over heels for her was defiantly true.

Kaliska looked at us, her chocolate brown eyes looking into ours in an almost entrancing way. I could tell Colt was looking at her the same way I was, and we were both mesmerized by her beauty.

"Hey boys." She gave us her usual flirting smile, that made my heart thump against my chest. Kaliska walked toward Colt's horse, and I watched in jealously as he helped her onto his horse. I felt pure anger as I watched Kaliska wrap her arms around Colt's chest, and lean her head on his shoulder. Despite it being night, I could tell Colt was blushing.

"So, you've got some tricks up your sleeve." I acknowledged, and Kaliska grinned,

"You'd be surprised. I was secretly trained every since I was a little girl. I know a lot more about fighting that you boys think." She explained, and tossed her hair over her shoulder.

"I guess we should get going then. We will figure this out tomorrow." I said, and the three of us headed back to the village. When we arrived, I noticed the streets were completely silent, and a few candlelit glows came from houses. This was a sign that the party was long over, and everyone had gone to bed.

"How exactly did you kill them?" Colt asked, pure curiosity in his eyes,

"First of all, I charmed most of them, and killed them. With the others, I just used my skills." She winked, and climbed off Colt's horse, the guy offering to help her down. She accepted the help, and noticed the carriage rolling up toward her.

"I should leave. See you two very soon I think." Kaliska walked toward us, and pulled me into her, pressing her lips against mine. I almost cheered in joy, and was about to put my arms around her waist, but then Kaliska let go of me and walked toward Colt. Her hands reached for Colt's shirt, and she gave him a kiss on the lips.

I could tell my brother was overly embarrassed, since he had never kissed a girl before. At the same time though, I realized he really had enjoyed it. Kaliska let go of him, and smirked, turning around on her heels and walking back to the carriage. Before she left, the girl winked, and then I watched as it sped off.

"Wow." Colt let out a quiet sigh, and I looked at him,

"So not you're type though." I grinned, and Colt glared,

"You wanna bet?" He held up his fist, and looked like he was preparing to punch me.

"Let's see who can get her first then." I smirked, and Colt sighed,

"No way I'm playing that stupid game." He turned away, and started toward the castle. I watched him leave, and sighed, looking up at the full moon.

"You're Spruce, am I right?" I heard a female voice, and I looked to see a girl with long black hair and bright blue eyes.

"Yeah. Princess Harmony?" The girl nodded,

"I heard Princess Kaliska got captured."

"She did, but she was able to escape." I shrugged,

"Hmm. I don't know why, but I keep wondering if she is related to my family some how. She looks so much like my mother."

"That's what I was thinking." I chuckled, and Harmony sighed,

"How are men so attracted to her?"

"What?" I was taken aback in surprise at what she said,

"I just find it weird. I mean, yeah she's beautiful and charming, but what else is there?"

"I'm sure she's not just that. But honestly, I think we are kind of blind sometimes." I chuckled, and Harmony laughed,

"No kidding, you are defiantly a weird gender."

"Thanks." I replied sarcastically and Harmony rolled her eyes,

"See you around." She waved, and headed toward a waiting carriage, where I caught a glimpse of her parents. Wow, Aiyana and Kaliska really did look way too familiar.

"Son?" My mother walked toward me, a tired look in her light green eyes. I examined her green cat ears, something my brother and I didn't inherit, and I noticed that they were limp, which meant she was exhausted.

"Are you alright mom?" I asked, and she nodded,

"You're mom is fine. Just a little warn out from fighting off some of the intruders." She laughed, and flicked her tail.

"Why don't we get to bed then." I suggested, and she nodded,

"Yes, you should too. I don't want you to be up all night thinking about the intruders. Your father sent guards to protect all around the village, and the other kingdoms have done the same. Now, get to bed." She pushed me, and I laughed,

"Alright, alright." I held my hands up in surrender.

---

As I laid in bed that night, I stared to wonder why the intruders really did kidnap Kaliska. Was it just because she was a Princess? Or was it something more?
