I grimaced as I walked into my room and instantly sheded my shirt and looked at myself in the tall mirror.
My wounds, bruises and cuts were having problems healing especially when I spent the entire night, having people pat me on the shoulder, back, head, and even lower. Every single time a hand would come into contact with a sore spot, I'd bite my cheek and stop myself from flinching.
I thanked whichever god that allowed me to have the willpower to not cry out, and I went to my bathroom and took off the last pieces of my clothing and turned on the hot water and prepared a hot bath.
When I climbed in I gasped as my injuries stung for a moment and then fall into a dull pain.
I sighed and leaned back, closing my eyes in relaxation. It's been a while since I've felt like this.
Sadly it didn't last long when Spruce burst into the bathroom and grabbed my shoulder and stared at me like I was crazy.

"Bro you're getting married! But I've got bad news!!" He shouted and I glared but winced as he grabbed onto a bruised spot, and I shoved him off.

"Get OUT!" I shouted loudly, and he raced out and I sighed and drained the water and walked back out with a towel around my hips.
Spruce was now sitting on my bed but from where I stood, I could see him fidgeting.

I didn't say a word to him until I got my clothes on. When I did, I looked over at him and raised an unimpressed brow.

"So what do you want?" I asked as I grabbed a second towel to dry the rest of me.

"You're ex girlfriend is demanding you see her." I stopped and felt my heart beat strongly, and I took my time to dry myself before I look at my brother.

"Why does she want to see me now?" I groaned. Spruce grunted and looked away.

"I bet she heard about the proposal and came racing here.

"Well I guess it's too bad for her that I'm completely over her." I said. Which really was a lie. My heart still hurt when I found her cheating on me.

Spruce didn't seem to believe my lie but said nothing as a knock interrupted him.

"That's her." I sigh, and wave at my brother.

"Just bring her to the sun room. I'll come over when I'm decent." I said, and watched him walk out of the room before I sat down on my bed and stared at my feet.

"Of all times.. why now?" I murmur and grab some brown leather pants and a white shirt. I didn't even bother brushing my hair because I didn't want to look fancy to her or anything. The only thing I want is her to get the hell out of my castle.

I walked down the hallway and finally got to the sun room where Spruce sat with a pretty girl with long brown hair and chocolate eyes.

When she saw me, she jumped up and immediately hugged me. I forced myself not to curl my lip in disgust, and I reluctantly hugged her back, just to be nice.

"Oh prince Colt I've missed you so!" She cried out and I smiled weakly.

"Hello Princess Hiroko." I said and sat down and she sat down in front of me. I forgot to mention she's a princess. A princess of the land beyond the renegade's. Turns out my father was meant to marry the queen of the land, but things didn't turn out that way. We were meant to unite the forces, by Hiroko and I marrying, but she cheated on me and I kicked her out and told her to never come back. Why she did is still a mystery.

"You remember what our parents told us to do a while ago, right?" She asked, and I looked away.

"Yes. But there's been a change of plans. I'm marrying Princess Kaliska." I said and I looked back at her and she glared at me.

"You are meant to marry me Colt!" She snapped. I resisted the urge to roll my eyes and stared back at her, making her uncomfortable under my heated gaze.

"I would've. If you hadn't and gone slept with another man. Such shame really. I remember your mother telling me that I was strictly forbidden from doing anything to you until we were married." Not that I wanted to do anything anyway. There was a point where I did love her, but I was young!

"It was a mistake!" She snapped, and I raise an eyebrow.

"So you accidentally slipped into bed with a man? It happens to the best of us I guess." My voice was dripping with sarcasm and venom as her face flared red. I could hear my brother snickering but I ignored him as I kept my focus on the princess.

"I'm sorry, but in a relationship there needs to be trust. Otherwise you don't have a healthy relationship. I'm sorry to say but I lost your trust long ago. Don't think I didn't notice you making out with a man behind my back or when you kissed me, I could taste alcohol on your breath." I said and stood up, saying enough because the memories were bringing me more pain than my physical injuries.

"Colt!" She cried out and tried to follow me but I glared an icy death look over my shoulder and she stopped in her tracks.

"You'll regret this Colt! I swear, my mother is going to send her entire army to your precious castle!" She screamed and stormed in the opposite direction.

"Fine, let them." I called to her, unimpressed by her threat.

Spruce walked over to me, and I breathed out the extra air I was holding in, and glanced over at him.

"Am I an idiot?" I asked quietly as I sat back down on the chair, and Spruce sat beside me.

"A little. You might be starting a new war here. So I'd call you an idiot for triggering it." He said, and I sighed and rubbed my forehead.

"Well what do you expect me to do? Dump Kaliska and marry Hiroko? Those words sound sick just uttering them!" I exclaimed, throwing my hands up in disbelief and I fell back on the chair. Spruce hummed in thought.

"Well the territory Hiroko and her mother control specialize in gems and witchcraft, so if we do go to war, they might have a possible upperhand in this war." He said and I stared at the ceiling.

"We can't have this happen.." I murmur.

"Well it's going to have to. If you're so loyal to Kaliska, then we're going to war. I'm not too worried though. We have the Catori army to back us up and we have some fine warriors in our own army. Plus, our father and mother are quite strong." Spruce said, and I covered my eyes with my arm.

"Yeah but I could stop all this from happening if I just married Hiroko.." I said quietly, and Spruce shook his head.

"Just marry Kaliska and stop complaining about it. You should be happy with who you marry." He said and I looked over. He smiled comfortingly and I sat up.

"You're right. If we have to go to war, then that is what we must do. I'm going to go tell father. You make sure the army is ready. We don't know if they're even going to follow up with the threat or not, but it's always good to be ready for anything." I said, and rushed off to the throne room.
