"That's Cordelia Benham and Finnick Odair right?" ┊"Yes, She won he games at 16 in...
It's been a few weeks since Maisy turned 6 every day has been full of laughter. Today I don't feel like doing anything though. I keep thinking about what is going to inevitably happen the second I step foot on the train to the Capitol.
I need to get out of the house for a little while. I need to clear my head. I need to be able to have a clear head before I have to send kids into the Hunger Games.
It's March 17th which means I have a little less than 4 months to prepare. I have been working with the knives in the basement, but Finnick tells me that I'm down there too much.
I don't want Caspian to have to start training right away so I'm going to wait until after these games to start training him.
Finnick took Casp and Maisy out on a little boat not too far away to go fishing. It's cute that he's trying, but that means I have no one to keep me distracted.
I walk out of the house and I walk over to Cody's house. When I knock it takes him a couple of minutes to come and open the door. "Took you long enough." I say.
"It was like 2 minutes." He grumbles.
"2 minutes too long. Anyways, I need something to keep my mind occupied while everyone is fishing so I thought I would take you to the meadow." I smile.
"Alright let me go get my shoes on." He says. I smile and sit down on the rocking chair he has on his front porch.
"You ready old man?" I yell.
"I am not old!" He says walking out of the door.
"It took you long enough. I thought you fell into a black hole." I smirk.
"I didn't take that long." He grumbles.
"Yeah you did." I smile when I see him roll his eyes.
We walked throughout the square taking the familiar turns I took everyday when I could.
"How'd you even find this place?" Cody asks.
"I was 9 and I was tired of taking care of Caspian, so I snuck out of the reaping and just found my way here. It's nothing special. I don't think a lot of people know that it exists. It's peaceful back here. I love living on the water's edge, but I wouldn't mind living back here and being able to see all of my favorite flowers." I smile. "We're almost there."
