The second district 4's tributes stepped inside the arena, they were dead. They were some of the youngest this year, so it wasn't too much of a shock. I have been running in circles for Snow. He wants nothing to do with Katniss Everdeen.
He had me go up to Seneca and have him throw fireballs at her. I felt terrible. I still do, but when I sat down at the open bar, Haymitch came up to me and I told him what I did. He said, 'You can always make it right. I know you, Cordelia. You wouldn't want someone who was your age when you won to go through the same things you did. She has a little sister at home too.'
That might've changed my mind. I went out and got some sponsors for her even if I shouldn't have. I'm sitting in the living room with my legs up on Finnick's lap and my back resting against the edge of the couch. "I can't believe they've actually made it this far." Caspian says, walking into the room.
"Well she's close to dead. I'm surprised she isn't yet. It's all because of the little girl from 11." Cody says from the other couch.
Another person I knew. I didn't officially meet her, but I knew her older sister. Rose. I remember when Rose spoke about her. How she fell out of the trees. When I heard her last name I knew right away who it was. They look so much alike that you would think they were the same girl. I just hope she doesn't end up like Rose.
"What are you all doing sitting around?" Winnies voice asks, cutting through the room. "You, Cordelia, should be with Seneca Crane, not sitting here watching the games."
"Snow said that I didn't have to do anything." I mumble.
"Well it would still be good to be seen in public with him, so the Capitol doesn't think it's a ploy." Winnie says.
"Winnie, just let the girl have a break today. She does everything for us anymore." Cody says, taking a sip from his whiskey.
"You need to stop drinking." She says, taking his glass.
"You never had a problem with it before." Cody shrugs, reaching to take his glass back.
"Why can't we all just be normal?" She asks. "Everyone here isn't normal. We're all fucked up." Finnick says.
