My leg is bouncing up and down under the table as I watch Caesar Flickerman and Claudius Templesmith talk about the tributes before they enter the arena. "I mean we haven't had a victor's family member in the games since Gloss and Cashmere. Can you imagine if Caspian wins then there will be a second sibling duo apart from the victors." Caesar says.
"I can see that Cordelia has trained him very well considering his score. He got a ten! That's a whole two points more than his sister got." Claudius says, excitedly.
"I'm placing my bets on him. I mean seriously, what do they put in the water there!" Caesar exclaims. "I have a feeling if he wins then there will be a third Capitol Darling from district 4!"
A hand on my shoulder takes my gaze away from the Tv. I look up to see Johanna. "How you doin', fishy?" She asks, sitting in the empty chair next to me.
"As good as I can be at this point." I say.
"At least if he dies you can mourn him publicly." She says, bluntly.
"Wow, thanks Jo, really supportive." I say, looking at the Tv.
"I mean I haven't been able to mourn my family publicly at all." She says.
Johanna's family was killed in some lumber 'accident'. She called me the same night crying. All of the victors knew it was Snow. When she called me that night she said she had found a white rose in the area where they were killed. I knew right then and there that it was Snow's doing.
It just has me wondering if my siblings weren't so popular with the Capitol if Caspian and Maisly would have been killed too.
"I know. I'm sorry." I say.
"I'm sorry too. It was a low blow." She says.
"You always take the cheap shots." I say, looking at her with a smile.
"When I have the chance." She says, smiling. We both laugh at each other until Finnick comes over. "Ugh, always have to ruin the fun, don't ya Fish brain." Johanna says.
"This is my station." Finnick says.
"Yeah, and this is my friend." Johanna says, putting her arm around me.
