"Johanna!" I yell again. A wide smile on my face as I run over to my best friend. I hear Finnick yell her name from behind me, but I'm too far ahead of him to care. The closer I get the more I see her face.
"Cordelia! Finnick!" Johanna yells back to us.
I crash into her, wrapping my arms around her shoulders. "Oh my god!" I say, jumping up and down. "I can't believe you're here right now!"
"Yeah, you two left me with nuts and volts!" Johanna says.
"Try staying with these two for the past day." Finnick says, motioning to Peeta and Katniss.
I pull back and take in the fact that she is standing in front of me right now. "God, what happened to you?" I ask, disgusted.
"What happened to me? What happened to you?" She asks, gesturing to my half naked body.
"A lot." I say, laughing. "But seriously. Why are you covered in blood?"
I hear Peeta and Katniss come up behind us as Johanna answers my question. "We thought it was rain because of the lightning and we were all so thirsty. But when it started coming down it turned out to be blood. Thick, hot blood. You couldn't see, you couldn't speak without getting a mouth full. That's when Blight hit the forcefield."
"I'm sorry, Jo." I say, placing my hand on her shoulder, trying to comfort her. I know she never thought of him like how I thought of Cody, but he was from district 7. He was a piece of her home.
"Yeah, well, he wasn't much, but he was from home." Jo says. "And he left me with these two." She gestures to Beetee who is still lying face first in the sand and Wiress who is just wandering around. "He got stabbed in the back in the Cornucopia. And her-"
Johanna gets cut off by Wiress. "Tick-tock." She is walking around in a circle and is mumbling the same thing over and over again.
"Yeah, we know Tick-Tock. Nuts is in shock." Johanna says. Wiress walks over to Johanna who harshly shoves her to the ground. "Just stay down will you!"
