I hear the birds chirping. The sunlight falling into the room because of the slightly opened curtains. I groan and slowly turn to the side to see Finnick. Instead of being met with his usual warmth I am greeted by nothing.
I slightly open my eyes to see no one in bed next to me. The bed is unmade, too. I'll have to talk to him about that later. I look at his pillow and see a blue sticky note. 'Take as long as you want to get ready. When you're done, go to the back door. The surprise will be waiting for you. P.S. Wear a bathing suit. Don't wear mascara.'
I smile at the small note he wrote and softly place it in the drawer on my bedside table. I wonder what the surprise is. Could it be a new boat? We haven't talked about getting a new one and I think he would wait until my birthday. This surprise is really throwing me off and I don't like it.
I move into the bathroom and turn the shower on. While I stand in the shower I think about this morning. It was quiet. That's the first time the house has been quiet in a while. That must mean everyone is out.
I step out of the shower with a towel wrapped around my body. I walk into the bedroom and walk over to my dresser. I picked out an off white one piece bathing suit with blue flowers and cut outs on the waist. I took out a pair of white shorts and one of Finnick's blue shirts as a cover up.
Walking back into the bathroom I start to do my hair into a half up half down look, leaving out the curtain bangs I gave myself a while ago. I put on some gold earrings, the necklace Finnick got me, and the ring Cody gave me a couple years ago.
Walking outside of my room I went through the eerily quiet hallway. I guess I just got so used to so many people being in the house at once that I got too used to the loudness of it all. I step inside the kitchen and see yet another blue sticky note. 'A small breakfast for someone who makes it every morning. I might not be good at cooking, but I can make some damn good waffles.'
I giggle at the note and set it back down on the table. I look at the 'small' breakfast he made for me. It is two waffles with whip cream, syrup, bacon, and fruits. I sit down and start eating.
It only takes me 15 minutes to eat half of it. Of course Finnick thinks it's a small breakfast. That guy can eat double the amount of food he gave me in less than 10 minutes. And he gets mad at me for calling him Miss Piggy.
