I could just make out Obi-Wan's silhouette behind the thick glass while the nursing droids worked on my injuries. The pain seared through my body like pieces of shrapnel, and it took all of my energy to stay conscious. My pulse was racing inhumanly fast on the monitor,  making me more nervous than ever.

Wanting to get away from the pain somehow, I closed my eyes and tried to focus on good thoughts. My hands were clenched in protest, but I fought against it with as much willpower as I could muster. Bandages were wrapped tightly around my legs, trying to stop the profuse bleeding before I passed out from blood loss.

When I was sure that I couldn't fight anymore, I suddenly felt a soft, calloused hand resting on mine, and I opened my eyes to find Obi-Wan standing beside me.

"Hello, my darling," he greeted quietly.

I would've said something back, but my voice had been shredded to pieces after crying out in pain for so long. All I could manage was a weak squeeze to his hand.

Obi-Wan leaned down and gently kissed my forehead. "I need you to calm down for me," he murmured, his lips brushing my skin. "It won't help to be stressed."

I was not Force-sensitive, but he could still read my thoughts and sense my emotions, so I said inwardly, I'm trying, Obi. But it hurts so badly.

He pulled back a bit and looked at me. "I know it does, love," he replied, brushing my messy hair back. "But you must be strong and fight back. I promise I will help you."

A lone tear escaped from the corner of my eye, and Obi-Wan wiped it away with his thumb. "You can do this. Just focus on me."

I reluctantly nodded and gripped onto his arm as he leaned back down and rested his forehead on mine. The pain was unmerciful, but I focused on the feeling of Obi-Wan and his loving touch. Both of his hands were wrapped tightly around one of my own, holding it to his chest. He whispered reassurances to me and kissed my brow multiple times.

Slowly but surely, my heart rate began to drop back into a normal pace, but I wasn't ready for him to leave, so I asked, Can you stay?

"Of course I will," Obi-Wan responded instantly. "I'll be here for as long as you need me."

The tiniest smile formed on my lips, and I gently pulled his face back down so that I could be in physical contact with him. He sweetly obliged and kissed the tip of my nose while saying, "I'm proud of you, my love."
