I stepped off of the ramp and turned around to face Obi-Wan, who was leaning against the doorframe of the transporting ship. "Are you sure I can't come with you?" I whined. "I don't want to sit in one of those anxiety-inducing meetings alone."

He smiled sadly and said, "Believe me, darling, I would bring you along if I could. But we both have duties to fulfill, and you know that."

I sighed and replied, "Yes, I do."

Seeming to sense my creeping anxiety, Obi-Wan said reassuringly, "My meeting at the Council should not be very long. If you're still working when I've finished, I'll try and join you."

"You would do that?" I asked, touched.

"And so much more," he smiled. "If your meeting ends before mine, go home. I will be there as soon as I can."

"Don't rush your duties, Obi," I said. "Like you said, we've got jobs to do."

Obi-Wan looked around to make sure nobody was watching, and when the coast was clear, he extended his hand out for me to take. I stepped back up the ramp and took it. His touch was so gentle, yet so strong, and I couldn't even begin to know how he did it.

"I may have a lot of duties to this galaxy," he said quietly. "But you will always come first, love."

I looked down at my feet and blushed. Obi-Wan had always been known for his charming ways, but he had never failed to make me shy when he used it on me.

His knuckle came under my chin, and he lifted my head so I could look at him. "Don't be shy," he smiled softly, pressing a kiss to my forehead. "It's just the two of us."

"Your charm is enough to make anyone shy," I chuckled, stroking his chest.

"I doubt that," Obi-Wan replied. "I think I only have that effect on you, darling. You're my strong but timid Queen."

"I wish I wasn't so shy," I grumbled. "It would make things a lot easier for me."

Hs kissed my head again and said, "That's why you have me."

"Except for today," I chuckled.

Obi-Wan shrugged and said, "You never know."

He was making it harder to leave him, but I knew I had to go when I heard my bodyguard say, "It's time, milady."

"I'll be right there," I waved. Then, I turned back to Obi-Wan and asked, "Will I see you later?"

"Of course," he nodded. "I promise."

I hugged him tightly and melted when his strong arms came around my torso. He gave me a small kiss on the head so that no one would see our clear relationship. All too soon, I separated from Obi-Wan and walked back down the ramp, giving him a friendly wave as he flew off.
